Default What is the most regrettable film you purchased?

As a fan of cinema, i rarely regret having bought a certain movie. Even bad ones, which i consider part of my collection.

The only movie that i really regretted buying on b-ray was Speed Racer because i thought it was a pathetic excuse for a film.

So what about yous? Share your experiences!

My Blu-ray purchasing track record does not have any black marks so far, but I made a few bad judgement calls during my DVD collecting days.

Back then, I made a blind buy of Little Miss Sunshine, and I ended up selling that DVD the day after I watched it.

I don't like blind buying, and have only done it about five times at most. And the only one I regret of those is Akira. Big fan of original anime movies, but this one just didn't do anything for me. I do plan on giving it another chance someday, but it's not high on my priority list.

Project X. I technically got it for free at a Blockbuster sale (3X2 on used films on Blu-Ray and DVD FTW?).

I watched it, took a shower because I felt dirty and ugly and traded it back at the store while wondering about the kids and most worryingly adults that actually enjoyed the film.

There's a good project x movie from the 80s. I buy and sell so many movies on ebay it's almost like renting. Just saw prometheus and was terribly disappointed...going on the auction block

House of 1000 Corpses and Upstream Color. I know these movies have fans, but I am not among them. I've stopped blind buying since then...

There are plenty I might not buy again if I had it to do over but I don't have too many regrets.

Two that stand out are the first release of The Terminator and The Rise of the Planet of the Apes.

I saw all the posts and reviews talking about how bad The Terminator looked and thought 'eh come on, it can't be that bad...it's gotta be at least three or four bucks good'. It wasn't.

Rise wasn't bad but it wasn't worth the release week price I impusively paid for it. It's now kind of the string around my finger that reminds me to wait unless I have a really good reason not to.

There have only been two times I did a blind buy, and both turned out good...Troy & Les Miserables. So no black marks for me.

All three Pirates movies. Have yet to watch 2-3, 4 years later. It was when I was starving for great transfers.

well I think even the worst movies have some worth while merits. 'Gangster Squad' not the best film but a decent popcorn shot'em up action flick. The extras on the history of LA crime and law enforcement makes up for the movie.

My most regrettable film I have purchased would have to be one I already owned on dvd and repurchased on BD. MGM's original "Red Dawn" which starts out as a really bad transfer from the original source material. Love the movie but was not impressed to say the least in the low end transfer cheap cash in.
Other 80's films and quite a few 90's films also a lesser quality transfers.

Only one I'm a little iffy on is Sucker Punch, but I still find it visually interesting to watch.

I have a few...and they were "blind buys". I can never seem to get in to them enough to finish watching them.

One was Cloud Atlas, another is Argo. There are a few others, but those are the most recent.

Sad too...cause I was looking forward to watching them, then I put them in my PS3, and well...regrettable.

I've only blind bought a couple of times but it hasn't worked out well for me.

I tried Warrior based on recommendations and a sale price and was disappointed. Found it to be an ugly movie about ugly people with nothing resolved at the end.

I also tried Robin Hood (Russell Crowe) and was also very disappointed with that as well. No one or nothing good about it. Drab and dull.

Sold Warrior immediately, selling Robin Hood soon. My blind buying days are done.

I blind buy A LOT... the only one I bought and regret is Machete, every other bad film I own is because they were gifts.
