Thanks. The Golden Compass had good PQ. I never get tired of watching good BD movies on my large screen. I'm still quite blown away each time. I actually much prefer watching movies at home instead of going out to the theater. I think last year I only went out twice to movies and each time I kept thinking how much better it would look and sound in high defintion in my home theater.

HI Ric... Golden Compass is nice.. but that DNR is bugging me. Nicole Kindman have a perfect porcelain face and most detail are Furbared (fine detail) witch pissed me off a little.

Nice Screen btw... i'am looking for a 92' inch of the same screen you have very soon

With The Golden Compass, I think they had to blur the image slightly in order to make the CGI blend more seamlessly with the live action. In fact, I don't know of any heavy CGI movie that doesn't employ DNR to some degree. The image was very good, but some of the shots lacked the extreme detail that should have been there. But even with that, I found the PQ better than most of the other BD discs I've viewed. Just not as good as it could've been. I would still rate it up there at about 8 out of 10.
