This is true. Sony's rootkits, for example, have hurt them more than they know. People now hate Sony with a passion. They hate Microsoft, too... but these days a lot of that hate for Microsoft is going the way of how they are seen to be bowing to movie studio DRM. Vista is little more than a slower XP rewrite to keep them from being sued by the likes of Sony.

That's how many people view it, and that's why Sony is hated so much.

Well, then they should send their complaints to Sony/BMG not Sony Electronics, but I guess it's easy just to lump them all together. Ignorance is bliss!

Thanks for the replies, guys. Let me tell you, here in Greece is all about Blu-ray. When Playstation 3 was launched a lot of the blu discs in the FNAC (one of the biggest stores in Athens that carries the Blu discs) were sold and in tv and radio you can hear and see from time to time "available in dvd & blu-ray" (for the Casino Royale, so far).
HD-DVD is NOWHERE to be seen and even the biggest selling tech magazine here ("High Tech") has published in the cover the blu Casino Royale with the phrase: "Finally High Definition Blu-Ray" and inside the magazine there's a review of the dics ending with this: "Blu-ray wins, the war is over".

Well, I guess it's safe to say the ratio of intelligent people to fools in Greece is a lot higher than the US.

Hearing all this talk about Blu-Ray in Greece makes me think about the Olympics!

Perhaps Blu-Ray should become the official format of the next Olympiad, I'd love to see classic Olympic films and a great Olympic game on Blu-Ray disc and PS3!
