If you got an approx. timecode, let me know. But I'm sure it has been fixed as well.

I just checked all the other ones:

The choirs are there. That's the one I checked before by myself, because that's the one I heard most complaining about in the final battle scene.

The choirs are there.

There is no horse galloping.
oh, Wow, thanks again!!
The first scene should be from 6.56'' and on.
The choir is constantly heard in the original.
While in the faulty one, it was missing.
But I guess, since they fixed the others they have fixed this too, as you said.

Then this is GREAT news!

Sorry, I have another question.
Do you know what is the duration of the film with the horse falls cut?
I know the uncut is 2.10.31'' (or 2.10.32'').
it's just that I'm watching my Blurays on my pc with AnyDVD running (which removes region), so I don't know what I should do according to the process you had described about watching the uncut version.
So, I guess I will know if I'm watching the uncut one from the duration.

The choirs are there in that scene, too. I just wanted to make sure, that I am really checking the right scene/we're talking about the same scene.

I'm doing all the testing stuff on my pc with AnyDVD, too. You can configure AnyDVD to ask you to choose the region manually. This way you can set region B and will get the cut version. That's the way I just got the censored running time.

Oh, ok, thanks a million again!
AT LAST, it seems I will be getting this!
I love the movie and was so frustrated that all previous Blurays had errors!

Yes. It's the Extended International Cut.

Hahaha...andreasy, you'll have to check every single scene of the movie before everybody's satisfied. And then they'll decide to wait for a corrected US Blu-ray ;-)

NEXT QUESTION (for the audiophiles, when they get it) - is the audio pitch problem on Destroyer corrected....

Nice work, Andreasy, your patience is remarkable.

I too have ordered the French steelbook (having previously bought the French Barbarian/Destroyer box set), although I must admit I would probably have never noticed any of the audio/video issues were it not for this thread!

WOW, I'm at a loss for words. I want to first thank Moonlight Shadow and Andreasy969 as well as many other members here and reviewers around the web for spreading the good word, making the issues known, and working on projects to correct mistakes.

I also want to thank Fox and MGM for finally releasing a perfect disc of one of the best movies of all time, Conan the Barbarian which features my all time favorite score from Basil Poledouris.

I've spent two years of back and forth emails between Fox and Universal and I know many others who have as well. The fight was well worth it.

Currently, the French steelbook is the ONLY correct version of this movie to have ever been released on Blu-ray anywhere in the world.

I received this steelbook from Amazon France and have watched the movie in its entirety.

The choir during the opening attack on the village has been completely restored.

The night filter as Conan is chased by the wolves has been restored perfectly.

The choir during Conan's recovery sword wielding has been beautifully restored.

The percussion during the orgy scene is all there.

And lastly, the choir during the end battle is back in tact.

All original Foley effects are complete and unaltered.

The movie is completely uncut featuring the witch scene in its entirety as well as all of the horse trips.

The picture quality is as good as any previous release.

The corrected soundtrack is lossless DTS-MA and is a full blown 5.1 mix. It sounds fabulous, thunderous, majestic, and the dialogue is crisp. This new mix no doubt came from extremely high quality sources, most likely the original master audio tapes. It has that same liveliness and crispness as the newly remastered original soundtrack in the three CD collectors set from Intrada. It's that good.

The steelbook art is awesome and pictures don't do it justice. This is the definitive version of Conan the Barbarian.

MESSAGE TO UNIVERSAL:

A personal note to Universal and I hope I speak for many movie fans out there. Universal, you are a disgrace. Over the last two years I have been in contact with no less than three separate departments and a half a dozen supervisors, managers, and directors. You know who you are. You should all be ashamed of yourselves. You don't care about the fans. You don't care about the movies. You are working in the wrong business. You are all cowards.

Very interesting. I wonder how this "fixed" disc compares to the fanmade disc that also corrects everything on barbarian.
