It's not much fun to look at!

Can I ask you and the OP (and everyone else!) have you noticed when a film goes from the end of a movie into the end-credits the image breaking up and the letters been distorted? It happens a lot on my Samsung. It's more noticeable on the PlayStation, when the Save Game icon appears by itself it doesn't always display straightaway. There's just a mass of multi-coloured pixels in its place.

I'll have to try and take a picture, I'm not sure if my camera is quick enough!

To be honest Chip I have not noticed this issue.

I managed to capture what my Samsung plasma does to subtitles and icons. If you're a gamer the pictures are from Battlefield 2. Usually the icon or text starts off glitch then goes into it's proper shape. It's nearly always white or light grey.

Chip, that is pretty bad! Have you been in contact with Samsung at all?

They're sticking to their guns with doing nothing to help. I've tried calling the Office of the President, but get bounced around from the operator to a hold line that I either just get hung up on or have to leave a message. So far, they haven't bothered to call me back. I'm not going to give up, though.

If all else fails, I may get the service tech to come out. I would like to think he'll know pretty quickly that it's not burn in and help get the ball rolling. In the long run, the price of the service call (if I even have to pay one, I'd try to get Samsung to pay it after they see it's not burn-in) is a lot better than the extra money for a new set.

Second repair agent is a more clueless than the first for mine. Again "no fault found" quoting this little gem of wisdom

you can not adjust Greyscale on modern TV's, that is set in the factory
..................oh yeah well WTF do we have colour and white balance controls for and why do we have ISF & THX calibrators around the world, why can I buy any number of meters specifically designed fro Greyscale calibration................and the worst of it is my retailer believes them.
This situation beggars belief.....not a wonder the AV industry is in such a state.

I haven't contacted Samsung as originally I thought it was a PlayStation issue as I only noticed it with game icons but since then I've noticed it on end-credits when the fades to black. My TV is well out of warranty but I think it would be worth contacting them to see what they say. I was pleased I was able to capture it with my digital camera. I'll try and get a picture of end-credits too.

I managed to take a few pictures of credits. This happens pretty much every time but I need to check them out on my BD player and set-top-box. The bottom pictures are when the distortion has settled down.
