2014 Golden Globes -TONIGHT, 1/12/14- Thoughts, Congrats and Complains

Pretty surprise almost none picked Jared Leto to win for best supporting actor!! by far one of the best acting performance this year!!...makes me wonder if people even saw Dallas Buyers Club.

The one i really hope she wins tonight its Greta Gerwing!!!

Gerwig SHOULD win, but won't. Her performance was beyond fantastic. But let's face it: Amy Adams is going to win. She's been nominated numerous times*, has never won. And "American Hustle" is a much bigger movie than "Frances Ha" was.

As to Leto, I've been seeing him picked on-line a good deal, but I just don't think that many people really saw the film. Again, I'm going with "American Hustle" and Bradley Cooper. But I wouldn't be surprised if Leto won.

* -- Just to put it in perspective, including this year, she's been nominated for 4 Oscars, 4 BAFTAs, 5 Golden Globes, and 6 SAGs -- and has NEVER won. I just don't see how they can turn her away yet again.

Exactly. I don't care about award shows and will probably just watch the opening monologue/skit. If anything else funny happens I will watch it on youtube.

Eh. I like these things, and I'm not afraid to admit it. Love the fashion -- I mean, who doesn't love seeing Olivia Wilde in some gorgeous, hot gown? Love Tina and Amy. And I've always enjoyed seeing the competition. It may just be stupid, pat-on-the-back stuff. But it's still fun to me.

Plus, since they are mostly drinking, there are some fun moments.

I realize that I'm mostly alone in this, though. That's ok.

I missed Frances Ha, but saw DBC......

The online love for Leto is as puzzling as the love for SLAVE for me. Both vastly overrated.

Haven't seen DBC, but have heard good things about it. I'll take your word for it.

Who I want to win: I'd be happy with Adams, but I'd prefer Gerwig or Delpy

Who I want to win: Ehh, they're all great performances from what I've seen

Best Supporting Actress

Who will win: Jennifer Lawrence
Who I want to win: Lupita Nyong'o or June Squibb (I really didn't think Lawrence's performance was all that great in Hustle)

Screenplay

What will win: American Hustle
What I want to win: Anything besides American Hustle, mainly probably Her but most likely is 12 Years a Slave

Best Animated film

What will win: Frozen
What I want to win: Don't really care, probably Frozen

Best Foreign film

What will win: Blue is the Warmest Colour (although I wouldn't be shocked if Wind Rises sneaked past)
What I want to win: Blue is the Warmest Colour

Best Original Score

What will win: 12 Years a Slave
What I want to win: All is Lost

Best Original Song

What will win: Frozen
What I want to win: Frozen or Inside Llewyn Davis

I don't watch enough TV to make a stab at those, but Breaking Bad and Behind the Candelabra will be walking away with a few Globes, along with House of Cards.

All of the reaction about the torture in the film; never got the backlash to be honest. I thought the film was fantastic and that never bothered me.
