The Edge region B? - Blu-ray Forum

Love this Hopkins + Bladwin + Bart the Bear classic. It's out in the States but damned region coding means I can't play it on my PS3. Anyone know if it's out/due to come out on Region B (including Australia etc)?

Yes, really love this and it looks wonderful on Blu-ray.

This question's best asked many times and the answer is always the same: if you like it that much invest in multiregion.

I paid £5 for mine and would happily have paid £20. Just imagine it was and put the rest to a Blu-ray player that you can import or one of the Philips EU models which can be hacked.

I added my UK DVD to it as it has zero features on the Blu-ray.

Still no Region B goddamit! So many films have eventually popped up on B but The Edge is a stubborn one - surely it's not that irrelevant?

Can't justify a Region A player for a few Criterions, Princess Bride, and this. Especially when I'm about to get a PS4.

If this doesn't get released soon I'm gonna eat a bear.

The Princess Bride is and has been available on B for a long time.

Think he's just referring to the fact we got it squashed down onto a BD25 whereas the US version is BD50 so our PQ pales in comparison

I wouldn't 100% rely on the tech specs listed on here- they have been incorrect several times as far as listing whether a disc is a single layer BD25 or dual layer BD50.

well I hope I'm wrong as I didn't bother upgrading to the new edition, but I'm sure I saw someone on here contradicting what that says. i'll have a look.

yeah a quick search on google and there's a UK review stating it is on a BD50 but the UK film fills 22Gb of disc space whereas the US one is over 30Gb so fairly big difference. pretty sure I saw someone on here saying as much but for the life of me can't find it.

Whatever the spec, the UK version of Princess Bride is DNR-slathered, whereas the US version is perfect. It kills me to watch an unnecessarily shïtty version, but I have no choice as long as I stubbornly refuse to buy a region-free player.
