General Zavvi Steelbook Discussion Thread

This really is a sickness - and I'm happy I got infected . My Zavvi discount was 10% for 3 steels: Pan's Labyrinth, Dr. Zhivago and Goonies. I used my Rewardz points for an additional 87 pence(?) off. I have amassed about 50 steelbooks(!) since 12.20/13 (have nearly 70 total). The thing about this obsession is I think I have all the steelbooks I need - all the best ones IMO. I don't collect them just to collect and I don't buy multiples. There's only like 4 or 5 I ended up not really liking so most of the steels I own are ones I like very much and don't regret buying. I don't foresee an avalanche of great-looking steelbooks coming out so I'm not worried about going bankrupt. Bottom line: I see an end to my obsession, which is a good thing

I would have ordered more but the code didn't work on some pre-orders, like Rush; I also am showing some patience on a few Arrow steels (Body Snatchers, Big Trouble in Little China) that I think Arrow will eventually offer cheaper. The coupon was only supposed to work on the first 100 pounds, but it worked on all of it.

Well, after a perfect record through the first 20 or so steels, the last 2 Zavvi steels have both arrived dented. City of God not only took a month to arrive but was also dented pretty bad right on front. Ordered 2 steels from Amazon.UK and one arrived quite messed up, not even sure how to describe it. If this continues, I think I'm gonna do my self a favor and just stop buying from overseas.

Other than Amazon US or ebay there really aren't many options of obtaining European-exclusive steelbooks except from overseas retailers- I know since I've been searching for a few of them. I signed up for an account at Zavvi last month and have ordered about a dozen steelbooks. Everything is arriving just a bit ahead of schedule and dent-free but I'm missing 2 steelbooks sent on Dec. 21st. I thought about opening a paypal dispute for a product not received but it's probably not Zavvi's fault so I've decided to just wait it out. Best thing to do is pay the extra for tracking and/or insurance and hope that customs doesn't pick your stuff to inspect. I've caught the steelbook bug and those guys over there know how to create nice ones so I'll just have to grin and bear it.

So I received a severely dented I, Robot steel and ET steel. How do I deal with the return process with Zavvi as I am in the US. Is this going to be a huge hassle getting an exchange (that's what I would prefer) or my money back?

"return process"?. General Zavvi dont understand stinking "return process" !

It is going to be a hassle but you should get a replacement etc. Eventually. Its bad enough if youre in the UK.

Could someone explain too me something. I still didn't get a voucher of 10 pounds that I got from the HUT Company that exploits Zavvi. It was like when you buy the next thing from a affiliated HUT Company store inside 30 days, with me it was 26 days (very close) you gonna get the voucher in about 7 days. I still didn't get. Even I bought a BR around the X-mas holidays to get the voucher.

I've just saved £23.60 on 13 steelbooks using PREBLU10 code

There were some steelbooks I'd pre-ordered on both Zavvi and Amazon. I've moved White House Down to Amazon and kept the Fox wave on Amazon and cancelled them on Zavvi

I had to make sure that I had no duplicate orders though

Just placed a new order using the Preblu10 code and it seems I've been charged around £100 already, the titles are not out til Feb either. Emailed Zavvi for confirmation. It could be though they've just charged me for Fantasia, Wreck It Ralph and Toy Storys 1-3. Has anyone else been charged for these titles yet?

To anyone based in the US who has ordered from Zavvi: what was the longest you've waited to receive a package from them via standard mail? I'm fast approaching the 30-day "wait period" for a couple of steelbooks I ordered that have not arrived (I'm in NYC). I think I'm just going to pay the extra pound or two for tracking on future orders - the thing is I don't remember seeing any shipping options offered other than standard International (Royal Mail?). Shipments from Zavvi seem to take a bit longer than Amazon UK. Eh, nobody said importing was going to be easy

I usually take 2-3 weeks for mine, everything has always came though and i am at about 30-40 from Zavvi not counting the 15 or so on the way....
