Default Bluetooth Keyboard for PS3

Hey guys,

I just wanted to check with you, as I want to buy a bluetooth keyboard to easy my browsing as the sixaxis controller is a pain in the xxx.
I am thinking about Logitech DiNovo edge, but want to know if it works with PS3 and if I can youse all the functions it has (zooming, tuchpad...) or it is only functional with a regular PC

thanks and have fun everybody

I highly recommend the Logitech Cordless MediaBoard.

It isn't Bluetooth, but it's the only decent option I found that included a touchpad. I didn't want an extra mouse in the living room. Right now this is the keyboard I'm using both for my PS3 and my HTPC.

naz, how do you like that keyboard? I've asked a similar question before re: keyboards (I wouldn't want a separate mouse either). I'm sorta on the fence buying a wireless KB right now, I wish Sony would step up and issue a BT 'board w/trackball (maybe w/ x,o, L1, R2 etc. buttons!). The thing that would sell me on the L-tech board would be how well it handles media-type stuff (zoom, web navigation). I'm also curious about how comfortable the trackPAD is (as far as easily and accurately moving the mouse), I've always preferred a trackBALL.

I'm happy with it. Logitech makes good products.

The touchpad is about as responsive as I expected. Touchpads in general are sluggish and this one is no different. The scroll bar built into the touchpad is very handy. Since we're giving up a numberpad for it I do wish they'd made it a little bit larger... more in line with the size on my laptop. Expect to have a mouse or trackball on hand to play FPS style games... or anything where you need faster pointer response. For general use and web navigation it's adequate.

That said, if they did put out another model with a trackball I'd probably buy it. If they really want to push sales they need to incorporate a trackball and the controller buttons. It'd quickly become a must have for online gaming for me. Hell.. I'd even take it without SIXAXIS support.

I have the Logitech MX 5000. It is Bluetooth as well so you should be fine. Make sure to plug the USB Bluetooth 2.0 transmitter into the PS3. Without that it won't work. It's plug and play (no need to go through your PS3 menus to associate the device). You will probably need to associate the keyboard and mouse with the transmitter I mentioned earlier, but that should be it.

You used to need the USB Bluetooth transmitter to get it to work with the PS3 but after one of the recent updates (I'm not sure which one) you don't need it anymore. I synced my MX 5000 with the PS3 directly and it worked fine.

Cool...that saves me a USB port!

Guys,

and all the functions work right away without a need of installing anything? The Zoom, touch pad, media keys and so on?

Because in the tech specs it says, that you need a PC and to install the software from the CD...

please let me know, because I need to buy something and I like the DiNovo Edge...

Browsing with the sixaxis is killing me...

I purchased DiNovo Edge about a month ago. Love it.
No software installation/USB transceiver needed to pair up with PS3. Scrolling made possible by circling on the touch pad, just need a few minutes to get a hang of it. rechargeable and pretty. Well, I think it's a sweet spot right on.

Regarding the zoom function, it works fine with PC (w/ software installed) but doesn't seem to work with ps3.

Than how do you do all the functions that work on PS3 sixaxis pad (like zooming, accessing the command bar...)?
