I've actually been arguing with a friend over whether it'll be on DVD or Blu (or both). Frankly, I think that only putting it on DVD would be the equivalent of releasing it on VHS in 2003.

No BD confirmation yet however. I'm thinking it might just be a DVD, but I guess we'll have to wait and see. Even a DVD announcement is wonderful news, I'm excited to finally own the series.

It seems very hard to believe that they're not going to clean it up for release (not necessarily restore, but remaster), and if they're going to clean it up, it's hard to believe they'd only do it in SD. Either way, there should be a thread, even though it's not confirmed...maybe it will show Warner that there's plenty of interest in the show hitting Blu-Ray.

Although we know Conan's a fan of the series, as he often tells the story of how his Harvard cronies heckled Burt Ward at a college appearance.

Good timing, as I'm just finishing up watching the series (taped off of TVLand's last airing) on YouTube.

Again, TVShowsonDVD confirmed it with WHV, although they had nothing to add to "in 2014." Would not be shocked if Adam West appears on the show tonight or tomorrow and they do something with that Batmobile.

A friend is telling me there are already HD masters for reruns. Anyone know if this is true?

I hope they have settled the legalities of the window appearances and have not just dcided to cut them off. My understanding is that's always been the hold up: Lurch, Green Hornet to name just a pair of problematic rights.

Well, they reached some deal in 2012 for merch. I assume they finally worked out a deal here, too.

Holy home video, Batman!!

I've been expecting this ever since I finally burned to DVD-R the last couple of episodes I needed from MeTV's broadcasts last fall!

I hope this series gets a proper, fully restored, uncut blu-ray release loaded with extras, and not some crappy MOD program.

I'll believe it when the set is in my hands. If the release is substandard, I may just stick with my home-made set, syndicated cuts and all. If nothing else, I have huge nostalgia factor for the MeTV broadcasts, watching them with my daughter and rediscovering the series through her eyes.

Going to keep my fingers crossed...
