We could cut this thread in half if we deleted all the comments of people directing other people's wish lists with posts of which studio currently owns whatever movie.

This is what we have Google for. Unless you personally own the print and we really don't know whose hands a film is in, who cares, let 'em Google it, this isn't prized or privileged information.

If you're playing with technology like blu-rays and specialty horror films, fans of these movies if they're anything like me, having a history of dealing with not getting releases you desire and knowing whose putting these movies out.

If you're on a computer and even further on a forum for fans of blu-rays and specialty horror film releases and cannot use Google and Wikipedia or IMDb for yourself, I have to question something further being an issue. But looking at a lot of these posts people aren't asking where something is, it's just one or two people constantly saying such and such movies are owned by Warner Bros. or Paramount.

Do we just assume everyone posting these fantasy wish lists are stupid and don't know why they aren't being released or are people just so eager to boost their post count that they're volunteering basic information at every turn?

My oh my mate, no point being so cynical.

How about we assume what's actually the case? Scream Factory! have been able to get many titles that have been unobtainable by other similar home media companies and as a result a lot of people (myself included) are excited that some of their favorite films might finally be making their way to Blu-Ray. That's all there is too it mate. I mean come on, trying to present logically that these fans are either stupid or obsessed with their post count is (I guess ironically) astoundingly stupid. I dunno how you can take this that seriously.

With that in mind since these forums appear to no longer be frequented by Cliff, it is probably worth posting these lists on their Facebook page or sent via Twitter. I agree that there are tons of Wish List posts and personally I don't care to see them but it's also not that big a deal and it's very easy to just scroll down a post or so, all without assuming someone to be stupid.

It gets very tired seeing everyone post their own single wish lists with variations on all the same titles. We get it, we know what titles are most wanted. "Shout!/Scream Factory" have done wonders so far with getting us what we want, I mean how many times did we have to jam "Phantom of the Paradise" down their throats before they got that one?

Guys, they know what we want, they're trying to get it probably. Let's face some facts as well, sometimes there's just no money in a title. I think some people wouldn't exist on this forum if there was no "Scream Factory" between the guy who relays information from Google and the guy who updates his list every other week with their release history and future titles.

And we didn't jam Phantom of the Paradise down their throat.

Cliff has been adamantly trying to get it since Terror Train, but they wouldn't license it out.
We have no clue what goes on behind the scenes, and furthermore we don't know why they chose what they chose. A number of factors come into it.

Wishlists are part of the discussion, hence the name "Discussion Thread". Speculation is important to, because it keeps interest in the label and helps them get a better understanding of what the fans are into.

However, I do think Warner is a Lost Cause at the moment, so there's no point in making Warner wishlists in the middle of the Scream Factory thread, but it's nice that it was moved and there is some place for it. It's a topic that would be fun to talk about.

At the end of the day, it's just a forum... Who cares enough to be offended?
It's all just fun. Horror is fun, that's the reason so many people are into it.

ThompsonJohn has been on this thread for ages and his opinion is as valid as anyones. The above two posts are not called for in the slightest. The truth is is that the constant correcting of wishlists has got as tiresome as the wishlists themselves and is a conversation killer. I myself don't nearly visit this thread as much as i used to because it has got so repetitive. I would never tell anyone not to post what they want but also there is no need for the anger of the first post and then the cliquey nature of the second. To have another view of something is not trolling.

Agree 10 Billion percent.
I dread when I miss anything more than a day, as I have to scan through pages of useless wishlists. There is a wishlist forum people, post your wishlists there!
I'm just as eager as the next person, but treating a high traffic thread like this one as your own personal chat room, is just being inconsiderate to all the members that want pertinent info.
Just start a Scream and/or Shout wishlist thread and link it here(from the OP as well), and then post there to your heart's desire. That way this thread can be used for hard news, as it is intended.
