Thumbs up It's that time of the year

No long waiting times here, unless it is an import, then it takes about a week.If coming from Canada, then a day or two.I ignore the 1 to whenever delivery dates. It's really just a seasonal thing.Do not despair, shipping times will get better.

+1

The last few orders I placed through amazon.ca ship usually that day (or next day, if I order late into the day) and I receive it within 2 days of shipping.

It's not so much the shipping times as the fact that the discs aren't in stock.

And the import theory doesn't hold water...of the three discs in my order, only one is an import and it's the only one in stock !

Items Ordered Price
1 of: The Deep Bilingual [Blu-ray] [Blu-ray]
By: Louis Gossett Jr.
Condition: New
Sold by: Amazon.com.ca, Inc.
CDN$ 6.99
- 1 item(s) Gift options: None Change gift options

1 of: Towering Inferno [Blu-ray] [Import] [Blu-ray]
By: Paul Newman
Condition: New
Sold by: Amazon.com.ca, Inc.
CDN$ 16.99
- 1 item(s) Gift options: None Change gift options

1 of: About A Boy [Blu-ray] [Blu-ray]
By: Hugh Grant
Condition: New
Sold by: Amazon.com.ca, Inc.
CDN$ 14.99
- 1 item(s) Gift options: None Change gift options

Of those discs, the only one in stock is THE TOWERING INFERNO, which is the import disc.

Both THE DEEP and ABOUT A BOY are domestic Canadian releases (with bilingual covers) sold by amazon.ca. Both of them are show as "Usually ships within 2 to 3 weeks."

Not sure I understand you,if they're not in stock then it would be difficult to ship them. Not trying to be funny but when I order and something is not in stock then they send what is in stock and wait for the others.Sometimes I wait months for a BD to come into stock and get shipped. Are you upset because you have to wait for a domestic delivery or are you upset because something is not in stock?

FYI, the Sony disc for The Deep is OOP. Still available on websites etc, but I'm not sure if they can order it in. The Image disc (which is missing extras) is the more readily available disc online now I think..

Very recently (until around the new year at least), the Sony disc was stocked in large quantity at Best Buy. There was a stack of them in Winnipeg and a friend of mine bought one in Ontario. I was on the fence but amazon's price pushed me into a purchase.

At the time I ordered it, the darn disc could have been bought locally for a couple of buck more! Remember, this order is from December 29 (3 weeks ago). So it hasn't been unavailable for any length of time.

I have no idea what the stock situation is at the moment. Amazon was still selling the disc for $6.99 until about two days ago!

The annoying thing is that, one two occassions, both TOWERING INFERNO and ABOUT A BOY have been in stock at the same time...but not THE DEEP. Now, ABOUT A BOY is back to "Usually ships in 2 to 3 weeks".

With my luck, they will get stock of THE DEEP when something else in the order goes out of stock and nothing will move.

Amazon doesn't typically wait for stuff to all be in stock at the same time either. It has been in my experience that they will ship it out as they have them. "Fewest shipments as possible" is I think how they phrase it, but it doesn't mean they're always going to wait for it all to be in stock at the same time...

So you didn't actually bother to read the original post in this thread?

Please go back and read the first post.

The OP is not complaining about shipping times. YOU are the one who changed the subject to a discussion of shipping times.

The original post (for those who bothered to read it) says:

"As of lately, all of the films (or almost) are like ''1 to 3 weeks... 2 To 4 weeks''... damn is the cybersunday and boxing day blew the roof or what, they don't seem to have enough for people anymore "

Note there is no complaint about shipping time. The original post in this thread is that amazon no longer has many discs in stock for people who order them. That's why I said in my post that this is not about shipping times.

It's about amazon's lack of stock.

Please read the orignal post before replying. This is not a thread about shipping time. It's a thread about low stock at amazon.
