my living room now has 4 15" subs& 6 8" subs in my rear speakers I love movies with heavy hitting bass but my highs & mids are crisp sounding perfect. nothing is overdone or muddy, very tight and controlled sound.

some of my co-workers came over and be AMAZED but be PISSED off cause their system don't sound or feel nowhere near as better than mine

Lol

The boxes for my 2 rear 1260w are all put togeter and the glue and silicone is drying as we speak. They just need the corners rounded and the port hole needs flaired. Then paint and install the drivers. I should be getting the 12g wire on thursday to wire them all up. Should be watching are first full movie with all four subs going on saturday. Should be fun.

So for anyone interested.... These things are pretty darn crazy. My son and I did the fan mod this morning and then calibrated all the new subs to the others and mains. The amp is a epx2000 that is running each channel at 2 ohm load. The new fans are 19 db 26cfm and the amp stayed cooler than my receiver durring the hulk movie. Useing the tones in the receiver I am 6 db hot but. When useing the Disney WOW. It claims I am 12db hot. But it sounds pretty balanced with the mains that hot. The 2 rows of seating in my room are now pretty close SPL wise. Before the new rear subs it was a lot louder on the front row. The amp is now running a single RCA in and set to mono. On the amp I set the rear subs 4 clicks lower that the front witch is at max. I have the subsonic filter at about 10hz and had no trouble with the hulk. No port noise, bottoming out or unloading. Never sounding stressed or being pushed to the max. The sound gun scene was great. The 50 cals sounded and felt amazing. Final fight scene was brutal. It pounded the hell out of my room and finally had that shake the hell out of you that I have been shooting for.I can finally say I am satisfied with the LFE in my room.

I only have one subwoofer, and that's plenty enough LFE for me.

I don't have a humongous, dedicated home theater room, that necessitate 4 subwoofers. My home theater is in my living room. Even though, I still think using 4 subwoofers in a home theater, is a overkill, and a waste of money. In a commercial theater?- yes, it logical to have 4 or more subwoofers considering the size of the venue, but not at home. I can see having 2 subwoofers in a home theater, (one in the front, and one in the back) but no more than that. Subwoofers are not stereophonic, they're monaural that output only one signal, so therefore, you'll be getting the same signal from each sub, it's not like they're multi-channel. There is such a thing as having too much bass, that will overpower the other channels.

Fair enough. I wasn't trying say what you have isn't good. Its just that I enjoy what some would call too much. Also I have less money in all 4 of mine than most have in just one since I built them. I also like having the extra headroom that 4 gives me. I no longer feel like I am running to the max. They play at any level I want them to and never sound like they are going to give up. I love pushing things to the limits and with one it just didn't cut it for me. My room and equipment is verry modest. There are many over at avs that would make mine look like a toy. What sub are you running?

Also most store bought subs won't play 20hz and lower with any authority. You almost have to build a sealed 18 with a ton of power or have multiple 12s. I chose multiple 12s and 500w rms to each. Mine are tuned to 16.5 Hz so they play down to about 15hz with authority. And I have about $500 in all subs and amp.

It's a B&W. I forgot what model because I had it for awhile.
