Italy Fuga da New York (Escape from New York) new release

There will be a new master? The old bluray was really disappointing.
I hope in a remastered.

Doubtful, Studio Canal/Optimum & Universal shared the same transfer with the original European/Australian release, So guessing it's just Italy's turn to have it as the Amazon link states Universal are releasing it

But there is already an old blu ray of this movie in Italy, released in 2007.
Does make sense if there will be a new transfer of this movie. This movie need a new transfer.

Certainly needs a new transfer, The US transfer is very nice and miles ahead of the Euro edition (clearly an upscale).

Hopefully it'll be a new master but I highly doubt it. Hope I'm wrong

If you are on the fence about the U.S. release, don't be

It is a wonderful, very organic presentation of the film. A new remaster won't offer any substantial improvements over the current U.S. transfer. This film looks beautiful projected.

(And I also have the old Optimum disc )

Totally agree, Love the US disc, Blows the Euro release away top to bottom. Be nice to have the MGM transfer available for the region B territories though. Glad I'm region free

I wonder if this will be exactly the same transfer as the old one?

I don't think it can top the US trasnfer, which I think is the best it's going to get unless more time/effort/money is thrown this film's way. With that being said, this is a total, shameless, package grab for me.
I love the Reel Heroes artwork, and this is my favorite film of all time.
I will be comparing the discs though!

It's the same upscaled piece of you know what that Studio Canal put out 5 years ago, just with a slipcover. What a shame.

I kind of figured that, oh well. So it's will be a shameless package grab for me! Perhaps I'll put my US disc in there?

I didn't see a specific thread so I figured I'd post here, but I got my first Italian release: Highlander Reel Heroes edition.
I'll just admit it right now, I'm a total fanboy for this artwork! There it's done!

Highlander's my favourite film, so I could well dip, (again), on that.

I added it to the database and is avialable from AmazonIT, altough I've seen it offered at other Amazon's as imports as well. Also it looks like this version offers a few more bonus features than the US release from Lionsgate, which was nice!
Like you, this was my 3rd copy of Highlander(US wide release and Steelbook). I contend one can't have enough Highlander in their collection!
