I think this is interestng and I had been waiting for soemone to do this. I must note it is extremely limited, but for soemthing that someone has done on there own (more or less), it is very impressive (at least to me).

We'll find out in a few weeks what this is like. It will be interesting to see how it compares with Toshiba's and Sony's efforts in the glass-free 3D arena. I wonder how many sweet spots there will be.

Other questions are: what price, what screen sizes, and can it be adapted for OLED displays?

Was at a conference this week and saw a 42" 3D TV which required no glasses,was impressed with it, it's only a matter of time to get this working for much larger screens but the price will have to come down a lot before I'm tempted to get rid of my current 3D TV.
Also saw a plate of glass which had a 3D image projected onto it which they demonstrated with a image of a camera,it's still in its early stages but I can see how this could work.

Lots of sci-fi films predict this, however they show transparency, I think to emphasize to the audience the technology.

So... how transparent was it in real life? I've seen some pretty decent holograms, but only in very, very dark rooms.

You could see through the image but the glass was within dark panels but there wasnt one behind it so you literally could see through it and the background behind.
Its still in its early stages but to come this far was good to see.
They also had a flat screen turned into portrait mode and you could virtually try clothes on , it used something similar to the Xbox kinect system.

I can't even imagine 3D without glasses. I always felt 3D need glasses so you know you are about to begin watching a 3D movie. This whole glasses free 3D does not sound right to me for 3D.

And what the hell should all the people do that have 3D now buy new tv sets buy new projectors do they honestly think people are gonna do that. Are the gonna release 2 3D versions one with glasses another without. Man i am confused by this. Because if people are forced to buy new of everything for this glasses free crap then i really think the studios got another thing coming with this glasses free 3D

There will be no glasses free 3-D, perhaps for many, many years.

Should be backwards compatible, same basic mode a left and right image merging to create 3D. Just no glasses and a different TV. Should also be the same 3D blu ray player and AVR that work now.

If It's just "built in" to the t.v that means we can keep everything we have now & just get a new t.v. at some point. That wouldn't be too bad. if is has a wider viewing area I would support it.
