Getting GTA 4 today - Blu-ray Forum

My wife is picking up GTA 4 for me this afternoon. Should I be concerned about the freezing issues or has a patch fixed the issue. I have a 60 gig that was not a launch day unit, but was purchased in March of last year. Don't know if the issues were related to the SKU and year but I posted it just in case. Thanks all.

wouldnt worry about it. mine only froze on the loading screen but that was because of the social club. so i had them delete my account so i can leave auto sign in on. i think the patch resolved that issue.

I have a 60 gig from Christmas '06 and got GTA 4 on release day and have not had a single issue. No freezes, no nothing, so I wouldnt worry about anything.

thats great news. the problems I am having seem to be limmited to only so many people (freezing at intro all the time) . You should have no problems.

I have the game rented and after waiting for the long patch to install, I loaded the game and the very first race it froze

. It froze again maybe 25 races later. Since then, it hasn't frozen.

BTW...Wife just called to let me know that she picked it up. She and I go to our local gamestop all the time so they know us there and we talk to the employees and the manager from time to time (super nice folks) and he (the manager) told my wife that GTA 4 for the PS3 has been outselling the 360 version by a good margin, at least in his store.

Does anyone know the numbers conserning sales on a larger scope. Just curious because of what M$ offered Rockstar to also have the game on the 360.

i think it was pretty even with MS winning just slightly which is understandable since they had a whole year advance in selling consoles. I think i heard MS sold more copies , but ps3 sold more copies related to how many consoles are out there.

Also, say goodbye to your friends and family because your in for a wild ride. I just came out of my cave after a week of playing with almost 50 hours. Pretty zombified. lol

The patch is available when you launch (load) GTA IV.

make sure your signed into the net too. otherwise it won't prompt you to download the patch.

Its not that addicting... I hate when its nightime though during the day wish i could have set have set the time to real if i wanted oto..
