To try and dodge emails from customers complaining it didn't come with a slipcover with later shipments? After all if it's not on the picture you can't complain it didn't come with one by their logic At least, that would seem like a good idea if I was them

I would prefer to to buy the bluray and dvd together in one combo pack, buying them separately is just too much money.

Then I think you're out of luck as I don't think Disney is just going to sell you the DVD by itself. Your only option I would think is to just buy the DVD disc on ebay.

Is the regular 2D 1-disc version going to come with a digital copy? I didn't think so but it says it will in the press release on this site and nowhere else; I get sick of the typos in the articles here where they get arguably the most important info wrong by being careless over a couple words and then laugh it off like "We all make mistakes, it's hard running this site" blah blah.

I would hazzard a guess and say no digital copy for the single disc release. Similar to a basic edition to Iron Man 3 I bought a basic version with no DC in it.

Blu/DVD/DC will likely be what you will need to get if there is one.

Is a Zaavi steelbook going to work on a US Blu-Ray player? I don't know which Thor to buy. I have the Blu-Ray/DVD+Digital copy for the first one. I do not have a special steelbook or nothing. I have a UV collection so the digital copy would be nice. The 3D disc is useless to me as I never use it as I do not have a 3D TV. I want the special features though, all of them as I am sure they will have a Marvel One Shot just like all the others did. Any advice on which one to get? Do you think they'll be any other releases closer to the release date?

Yes the disc in the Zavvi steelbook will work fine in the US and if the BD release of Iron Man 3 is anything to go by then all the different releases will include the same extra content which does include a Marvel One Shot.

Is there any lesser quality with UK released Blu-Rays because rumors have been circulating. If the content is the same I may buy the cool steel book case from zavvi if they ship to the US. The case looks fantastic!

Some UK releases are inferior but on the flip side some UK releases are superior but in reference to the Marvel titles all apart from The Avengers have featured the same picture/audio quality and identical extra features.

Can't say I like the steelbook much, no text on the front or spine is just lazy but seems to be a commen style when it comes to Disney euro steelbooks.

Yeah I see what you mean plus there is no digital copy and you are paying way more just for a protected case. Pft. Maybe I'll see if the Blu-Ray 3D combo pack comes on sale at a cheap price during release week.
