Default Percentage of Oscar and Box-Office Movies in your collection?

What percentage of Oscar Best Pictures and US #1 box-office hits from 1980 till date do you have in your collection?

I have 52% of the Oscar Best Pictures and 76% of US #1 box-office hits. I guess this indicates that box office hits are more aligned with my movie preference than Oscar best pictures. What does yours reveal?

12/34 on the box office, 16/34 on the best picture winners. A few best picture winners I want to get but waiting on a good price(Schindlers List), have a few in my collection from each list that I just kinda feel "meh" about that I may sell off after time.

25/34 of Box Office and 9/33 for the Best Picture.
Not all on Blu-Ray yet, slowly replacing my DVDs.

I'm not counting Catching Fire since it's not even out on blu-ray yet.

Box Office: 23/33 or 69.7%

Best Picture: 21/33 or 63.7%

Technically it would be 7 for box office, but 3 of those are just for reference purposes so it's really 4.

Technically it would be 4 for Oscars, but that includes one for reference purposes so it's really 3.

Box Office 4/34 = 11.7%
Oscar 3/34 = 9.8%

There are a 2-3 other best picture winners that I may add in the future if the mood and price strike me. Also if the theatrical versions of Star Wars ever get released in my lifetime on Blu-ray I may pick those up as well, but it's not a big priority and I'll be perfectly fine if it doesn't happen.

3/34 Box Office #1 Films

5/34 Best Picture Winners

There's a couple I'd like to own but haven't got around to purchasing yet though.

I haven't done the count, but I can guarantee you I have more box office movies. The Best Picture winners are so often horrible choices. Not only not the best, but often just lame movies overall.

I fully agree with you for instance Avartar should have won best picture in 2009 but instead Hurt locker did.

This seems about right. I love a lot of the 80s box office greats and of all the Best Pictures I've seen, I've liked about half.

This was really interesting to go through and look. For instance, I was SURE I owned "Top Gun" on DVD. Nope.
