Thanks to this movie I know how to say, "Who is the father?" in Spanish.

Most definitely preordering this day one. One of the finest movies ever made.

I'm lovin' Twilight Time's 2014 lineup so far.

Where are we seeing/finding these 2014 TT releases? I went to Screen Archives website and it says nothing about this (or Wild at Heart). Man, if theyre gonna start releasing more MGM titles I would love to see:

State of Grace
The Long Goodbye
River's Edge
Vampire's kiss

Just import the upcoming Arrow disc - it ports over all the DVD extras and adds several new ones, the latter of which TT would never do. Plus, even with the conversion rate you'd be enjoying substantial savings over TT's $35 prices.

One of my favorite films. Warren Oates is the man. I own the Italian BD, so no need for me to buy the T.T. release. Too bad this is limited in region A land. More people need to be exposed to the awesomeness of Warren Oates.

This is free on xfinity on demand HD for anyone who hasn't seen this film and might consider a blind buy.

Ive never bought a TT release before, so I was wondering, when do we get the details for this? I know the pre-order is in about 2 weeks, do we have to wait until then? I was hoping to know in advance whats included, artwork, etc.

We haven't had any details from TT regarding their version yet, so that is untrue.

A Peckinpah film I've not seen - I'm up for the TT release!

TT on the transfer:

Quote:
A note about the transfer: for those of you familiar with the foreign territory releases on blu-ray, this transfer is the same. There appears to be only one surviving HD master, culled from the best available sources. The transfer is detailed, colorful, and sharp, but its one blemish is the recurring incidences of white speckling, also known as "minus density" (trademark, RAH!) Apart from that, it looks very good. It must be remembered that ALFREDO GARCIA was a low-budget, indie road movie, shot entirely on location in Mexico, and it remains unclear what the state of the original elements actually is, and whether any of them have survived in reasonable shape.

What was going to be a first minute buy regardless just became even more of a draw for the extras.

I like that cover art! And being forthcoming about the transfer is nice too. See, TT it's not so hard.

I've always been partial to the (I think) the original one sheet of the clenched fist holding the locket with the picture of Al Garcia. This cover for the Twilight Time release blows that original one sheet away. And the extras announced make this automatic buy even sweeter. March can't get here soon enough. Now if TT can get their hands on The Killer Elite that'll be just beyond awesome.
