I think it's more about recouping some of that $4 Billion they spent on Star Wars, and aren't seeing a dime of that yet.

Is there any version with additional on-disc exclusives, or every release the same (with just packaging variations)?

Iron Man 3 didn't get that treatment, I don't believe Disney will treat this one differently. So, no exclusive special features.

Hard to use IM3 as a comparison when it didn't even have any store exclusives at all, not to mention a slightly different release pattern with the three combo pack options.

That is a shame there is no slip on the 2D version but from the promotional pictures I have seen so far it does not surprise me that it does not come with one.

If people care that much about a slip for the 2d version they can just call Disney to mail them one. It would obviously be the 3d version slip, but a slips a slip, and it'll only cost shipping and handling, which is about $3.95.

There is a 6 minute featurette called "Loki: The God of Mischief" that is exclusive to Vudu. Since Walmart, like usually, is doing a piss poor job of making info about their exclusives available I can't find any info saying that this is available to those that pre-order through Walmart. I'm thinking No based on the lack of info.

So for a short time on Disney Movie Club they had Thor 2 up it was the Bluray only version with digital copy well it got taken down recently which I thought nothing of.. Till today when I get a letter in the mail apologizing that it isn't available so they are upgrading me for the same price to the 3D bundle. Sweet! And it's the same $24.95 price I was gonna be paying.

Interesting. That might just be the release day in-store price for the 3D version.

This is the first Marvel movie I don't own Physically as I got the digital edition thanks to wal-mart.

Funny note: Vudu is selling Thor 2 in HDX (both regular and +Bonus features) for 22.99, but I was able to get it from Wal-Mart for 19.99 and it was essentially the +Bonus features edition. Thank you Wal-Mart.

Don't they send you a disc copy on release date?

So you paid 19.99 for something you don't own? you could buy the disc which is safe forever and make your own digital copy.

Not on this release. They only released the preorder card that only offered the Vudu copy and no bd copy.
