I'm not sure what you're referring to. Do you mean the original or the possible remake? If so, definitely the original. To be fair, it probably will be released some day, but I have no reason to believe Shout Factory would be behind it even if it's the type of film they like to release. My bet is we'd be lucky to get new cover art let alone special features beyond the scant ones included in the DVD version. Still, it'd be nice to have.

Blu-ray Samurai

![]() Quote:
Bad Taste: Gore, gore, gore! Beetlejuice: My Blu-ray is fine, but Scream Factory might make it worth double-dipping Brain Dead: A fun mind-twister that will have you confused about more than which Bill is Pullman and which is Paxton. Braindead: The ultimate splatter film deserves better than a bare-bones Blu-ray. C.H.U.D.: Strangely appealing. Cannibal Holocaust: Possibly the most savage film ever. Grindhouse seems to have abandoned the project after the untimely death of Sage Stallone. Cemetery Man: The funniest zombie film ever happens to be the most creative. Chopping Mall: Lovable killer robots. Cube: Creative premise lives up to it's potential. Dead & Breakfast: Funny and the musical interludes are pulled off well. Elvira: Mistress of the Dark: There's one reason this needs to be released. Well, two reasons, actually. Felidae: Animated tale that is truly shocking. Freaked: A long shot, but I'd like the special features from the original DVD carried over to a Blu-ray edition. Fritz the Cat: The more Bakshi, the better. Guyver: Dopey fun with gooey, segmented insect monsters. Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers: Haven't seen it, but I've seen Linnea Quigley so I'm sold. Irreversible: Worst date movie ever. Perfect for getting unwanted guests to leave your house. Leviathan: Deep-sea Alien. May: Speaking of which, May is the best film since Alien, the best film ever. Night of the Living Dead: Bleak classic could use a proper region A release. Perfect Blue: Psycho-thriller leaves an impact. Would also like Millenium Actress or Paranoia Agent TV series from director Satoshi Kon. R.O.T.O.R.: Exists in same universe as Glen or Glenda. Is a masterpiece of outsider art that leaves you with a big ol' grin on your face. Rawhead Rex: Haven't seen, but Clive Barker plus big rubber monster equals happy me. Return of the Living Dead Part II: Cartoony fun. Overlooked. The Brain: Fun effects. Needs a North American release. The Toxic Avenger: King of trash movies. Masterpiece. Tombs of the Blind Dead: Moody. Works in spite of the slowest undead ever. Ending strikes a nerve. Vampire Hunter D: Gothic sci-fi with arterial spray. Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust: Less blood, but better visuals and stronger story. Violent Shit II: Ninja being cut in half. Wicked City: Blu-ray could use less cutesy and polished anime and more gritty fare like Wicked City. |
