The scene in Death Bed when the guy barely reacts to his hands being melted to the bone is golden.

DEATH SPA!

Never seen it, but my friends and I saw a trailer on an old VHS and flipped out at how ridiculous it looked.
I think Death Spa might still be under license to Dark Sky Films/MPI. They were going to release it years ago, but put it on hold due to the recession.

In my case, I enjoy both. I never discriminate one or the other especially based on nostalgia.

Well, they did mention that they would be releasing two movies that have never been on DVD back in their interview from January.

The same.

Just sayin'.

I'm pretty sure I saw both films around the same time anyway.

Does it matter? The market has changed so much since then. A lot of the people buying DVDs back then no longer are now, and vice versa. As mentioned in regards to the Count Yorga series, you can't judge a films potential based on 10+ year old sales. If Scream feels films like Hellhole, Eve of Destruction, and Saturn 3 can sell on Blu-ray, I don't see why Howling 2 or Yorga wouldn't, in Howling's case on name alone.

This x 1000. Ginger Snaps is decent, but doesn't compare to the greatness that is Phantasm! To each their own though.

Well Hellhole must be one of them. The other - perhaps it's an MGM title? Without Warning hopefully.

(I realize Without Warning has been released in Germany - I have the DVD - but whenever Shout talks about past home release history they refer to the US only).

Phantasm is Phantastic. Even the subpar third movie.
Ginger Snaps, which I finally finished, had twenty minutes of quality content in it. It is 100 minutes long and the first part of a trilogy.

Oh now you're just having a laugh, mate. You really expect me to believe that you believe Phantasm has more to offer as a film than Ginger Snaps???????

Yeah it appears that they only mean US only as far as releases go

I hope for Dsman71's sake Without Warning comes out...Ive read a few posts where he (other members seem to want it too) very much wants this title. He probably has a brain aneurism from that film not getting announced after the hopes he had with those *upcoming announcements* that Scream Factory teases us with. I saw it a long time ago and would also like to cast my vote to have it released. The monster is really a bizarre looking chap...something from the Outer Limits !

Yes. I do. He/she does.
Phantasm is genuinely chilling with creepy scenes. The Tall Man is a badass villain.
Ginger Snaps is just sisters having conversations about changes and werewolves being an overt metaphor. Ginger was not a menacing villain.

Seven question marks?

So my opinion is seven times as puzzling, I guess.

And obviously, I do, or I wouldn't have made that post.

I enjoy Ginger Snaps a lot.

I think Phantasm is a classic. It captures the feel of a nightmare like no other horror film I've watched(and I've watched a lot of horror films).

Wow. Ok. I'm not going to piss on Phatasm for the sake of making looking Ginger Snaps look great, as I don't have to. But I imagine most of us on here know what's the more important film.

Also, the fact that you complain that Ginger wasn't a 'menacing villain' really suggests that you didn't understand the filmmakers/writers intent..

Speaking of Phantasm, is anybody else curious about the original five hour long cut?

Or. How about this? I just didn't like it. It wasn't my taste, so I didn't look for any depth. I feel the same way about Gravity (SUCKED!!!).

And the more important film is Phantasm.
