One good thing is the fact each side has a cut out so you can pull out the steelbook really easy.
Thats why I prefer these. I dont want to have to mess about getting steelbooks out of the covers because I actually watch the films inside .

Depends on if you have opened or sealed steels. Blu-steels won't fit sealed ones very good.

i've got 2 different kinds from 2 different ebay sellers and i like both. but the first lot i go from man-o-steel and they are really good but only 1 side has a D shaped cut out. so it just sticks. he only seems to sell the polly bags and the G1 dvd slipcases now.

the other lot i got from steelbook central are the ones with 2 cut out D shapes

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/121197104578

which seem to be no longer in stock.

i was thinking about getting these, but i use my movies.

I still use Man-O-Steel he still does what he calls his premium ones (which are very similar to the steelshell design) but has had some sort of issue with ebay and can no longer sell them, however he told me to purchase the standard ones and he would send me the premium steel shell ones (which he does)

None of mine have got that D shape missing so I dont buy any like that just to keep them all the same - a bit OCD I know!

How are these polybags? Do they fit well?
Those are the longer ones that fit DVD case sizes too. I don't like them because of the excess length looks weird to me on BD cases. Bags Unlimited carries poly bags that are the right length and fit steelbooks perfectly. They're not quite as clear as the ones you're referring to, but they don't tear as easily. Here's the link. BTY, they work great for sleeved BDs as well.

has anyone considered something like this ? http://www.videogameboxprotectors.com/
I'm using these to protect by boxed video games and they're just fantastic. im not sure the ps3 ones fits but if there's enough interest, im sure (jimpoleshuk nintendoage) could do a run for us.

Hmm... they look similar to my blu-steel SteelSheels that I currently use. Though these look like they cover the entire box

So what's the consensus? Which are the best bang for your buck ones?

Has anyone tried the fully enclosed ones on North American slipcovers personally? Are they a perfect fit?

I've ordered from this site in the past and the products are very good. I had the same thought for steelbooks so I threw in 10 of the PS3 cases to see if they fit. When they get here I'll let you know my thought is that they wont be wide enough though as steelbooks are a little thicker but we'll see.

I would appreciate this. I am looking around and so far these seems to be the best bang for the buck. Considering I need over 100 of them, if these fit they would be the best route to go.

ordered 5 myself too and couple of other things. i'll get them after you tho cuz im in Canada.

according to this website, the ps3 case are the exact same measure. http://ca.answers.yahoo.com/question...1015500AAF0dbm

and the steelbook size are (I measured those)

Width = 5-3/8
Height = 6-3/4
Depth = 9/16

(Originally and acidentally posted in a "group-buy" thread).

Out of curiousity, what's the longest people have used the Steelshells? Anybody know if they're "acid-free"? I'm assuming nobody's had any problems with discolouring from long-term storage yet?

My order of these http://www.videogameboxprotectors.com/ arrived today, very fast shipping by the way. I have to say that I am very torn on whether to switch to these or not. They are actually a little big for the steelbook. Height and width are fine but the protector is a little thicker then the steelbook which leaves plenty of space inside. Its not flopping around or anything but not a snug fit like the others I have. This may be due to the top and bottom flaps and may break in over time, but they are not snug out of the pack. For the price and the fast shipping I prefer these to the ones from eBay but I cant deny that the ones from eBay definitely fit better. Also these are fully enclosed, this is personal opinion but again I like that the other ones I have leave the spin open. I think it makes for better presentation since it appears that there is no cover on them when sitting spin out on my shelves, both look fantastic front facing. It also makes for easier access to the movie.

I ordered 100 last time from the Man of Steel on eBay and swore I would not pay that $200 cost again (shipping really kills it to the US). I will probably stick with the PS3 ones from videogameboxprotectors based solely on price but I do wish they fit a little better and were more like the Man of Steel ones.

Materials wise I think they are the same thing, they even come wrapped the same way. If you buy these I don't think you will be disappointed at all, they work and to me are 100% better then the bags but personally I just grew to like the Man of Steel ones.

Thanks for the update junkie88. I might place a small order for these to see how I feel about them. Not sure I like your description of them being a little loose though. Anyway you could get some pictures that show how they fit? Thanks!
