Post Best Police Academy film(s)

Out of all 7 Police Academy films, which one do you all think is the best one(s):

1. Police Academy -- Made Steve Guttenberg a star, Kim Cattrall is at her hottest, G.W. Bailey's Capt. Harris is pitch-perfect, and is the only R rated Police Academy film in the entire series! Enough said.

2. Police Academy 2: Their First Assignment -- Hilarious all the way, introduced us to Capt. Mauser (Art Metrano), Proctor (Lance Kinsey), Zed (Bobcat Goldthwait), and Sweetchuck (Tim Kazurinsky)!

3. Police Academy 3: Back in Training -- My personal favorite of the series!

4. Police Academy 4: Citizens on Patrol -- Callahan (Leslie Easterbrook) was smokin' hot in this movie, David Spade's first film, one of Sharon Stone's earlier films, more hilarious than part 2, and Proctor now under Capt. Harris' command, but hated that it was the final Police Academy film for Steve Guttenberg

5. Police Academy 5: Assignment Miami Beach -- To me, Steve Guttenberg was extremely missed, but Wayne Gretzky's wife, Janet Jones, was hot in this movie!! Too bad it was her only Police Academy film.

6. Police Academy 6: City Under Siege -- Had a darker tone than the first 5 films, but still just as hilarious!

7. Police Academy: Mission to Moscow -- Such an utter mess all the way through, no wonder that it was the only lowest-grossing P.A. film in the entire series. And Ron Perlman and Claire Forlani could not save this one either! Also hated that David Graf (who played Tackleberry in every film) died 7 years after Mission to Moscow was made.

So there you have it. My personal favorites are Police Academy 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6.

Does anyone else have their favorite Police Academy film(s) to share? Remember, it's hard to pick just one!

Part 1 was my fav, 2 was so-so, 3 was pretty good, Citizen's on Patrol was hysterical and I think every one after that was passable. The last one was barely watchable.

1 through 4 was pretty good, I think the cast were in the prime at 4. Plus those are the ones with Sgt. Mahoney.

After Guttenberg left, the series went downhill.

This is a very enjoyable series when you're in the mood for a few goofy laughs. I thought 1 through 6 were all good. 7 was the only one that was not very good. I have a soft spot for part 5: Assignment Miami Beach. I like the mystery element of part 6. Part 1 is, of course, classic.

The first three are my favorites, after that it slowly tapers down to the mess that was Mission to Moscow. I'm surprised it held up as well as it did though through the first six! Not many series make it to 7 and are even halfway palatable. Luckily it's got a lot more hits then misses, and I would still watch all of them back to back one weekend once they are released on Blu (keeps fingers crossed).

Well, I liked the first one, and the 2nd was alright, but I think the series took a nose dive after that one.

For the most part the franchise was great.....except 5 and 7. Both were lame.

Haven't seen any of them. Really want to though. Can't believe Roger Ebert gave the original zero stars.

I voted for the first one, which I remember enjoying as a teen. Don't think I saw 3 and on.

Crappy 80's film making at its best. You need an option 8 "None - They all sucked hard"

Dont get me wrong, there are some great films of the 80's and when I was a teen watching almost anything that hit theaters. (Trivia - Movies only cost $2.75-3.25 then and you could afford to see everything).

This franchise reminds me of the Ernest "Insert Goes/Does something lame here" films.

That wasn't Hightower. That was Tackleberry (David Graf) with the .44 magnum.

I remember seeing #2 at the theatre like 5 times when I was a kid, laughing nearly every second of that movie, 3 wasn't bad but Bobcat as Zed will ever be etched into my memory
