I agree. I enjoy the tribal sounds and levity of the song. But, just wondering what other songs could be fun to imagine and experiment with.

Maybe - Stuck in the middle with you.

Yeah, he's funny and really worked his ass off to get in shape. I agree about his charisma being reminiscent of Smith's as well.

Let's just hope he doesn't have a kid that he starts forcing into films due to nepotism.

I know he wrote this, that's why I mentioned it, especially since he doesn't have many experience directing before. But my main point was still the directing, that's why I mentioned ALL of his directing while just mentioning some of his writing. And he did direct Movie 43 too, including the writing (don't know which segment though).

uhhhh... from those that you mentioned, that's pretty huge part of the story. Even imdb credit Romero with the writing credit along with Gunn. And there were others who did uncredited rewrites to the script too. And again, I consider this as Zack Snyder's movie.

You seem very eager to defend this movie or this director/writer. I'm not sure you read my post before, but you do know that I'm excited to see this movie. And I did like the tone and the look of the trailer.(I just didn't findd the writing and joke to be funny in the trailer) But while I'm excited to see another chapter to the huge Marvel universe, I'm not going to just love and defend everything unconditionally. I just have some concern, that's all. And unlike Joss Whedon, who I was confident with from his work on Serenity and Buffy, I'm just not sold on this guy as a director YET. I'm going to watch this movie and make my judgement then. But until then, I was just commenting that I wasn't impressed with his filmography so far. That was just my opinion.

Same here. It certainly does look to be very entertaining, and more so then I originally thought it would .

Gunn's was the last segment. It is the only part of the film I watched and it was horrific. Six minutes of Elizabeth Banks being peed on by an animated cat. It was pitiful.

That said, I will defend Gunn to the death, as he did many thing I enjoyed. I love Super, Slither, The Specials, Lollilove, and his PG Pornos. He also seems like a really nice and approachable guy. I would trust him much more than Whedon. I just don't really like Whedon's stuff for the most part.

I think whedon sucks lol I have much more faith in gunn than whedon, just my opinion tho. I honestly wish I could say I enjoyed the avengers but it was way too cheesy for me.

I liked The Avengers alright, but I liked Iron Man 1&3, Thor 2, and Captain America much more.

Honestly I don't know whats wrong with me but I literally can't see why people enjoyed the avengers so much. To me it was like a TV movie and was really basic, and went wayyy too far with the humor. IM 2 and thor 2 were ok but sort of forgettable compared to the other films. I really don't even like to talk badly about these movies but I just don't get how the starting movies (iron man, Incredible Hulk, thor and cap) were all great to me and then went downhill from there. Although after I waited 6 months to re watch IM 3 I now love it.

I'm thinking guardians is going to be that well rounded movie I've been waiting for from the MCU

I did not like the first Thor at all.
Iron Man 2 and Incredible Hulk were good for one watch. Not going to watch either one again.

I really felt for thor, the second was ok. I probably should rewatch it and see if it enjoy it more. I thought Loki was great in the first, dumbed down in the avengers and then was the best part of thor 2. And I loved the Incredible Hulk, that and the first iron man are probably my favorites from the MCU, but hopefully guardians will replace one of those

That's fair. I've been fan of Whedon since Buffy, so I like his style of humor and knew I would like the film. Its same as you with Gunn - just different taste/or not enough exposure to other works.

Looking forward to this... Sci-Fi/action/comedy/space opera.... Not much into the Marvel movies, but Iron Man and Captain America are my favorites of the bunch.

After debuting Tuesday on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!,” the footage for the upcoming outer space adventure attracted 88,000 mentions across Twitter, Facebook and various blogs in a 12-hour period between 11 p.m. EST until 11 a.m. EST. By way of contrast, in the first 24 hours following their trailer debuts, “Man of Steel” attracted 75,000 social mentions, and “The Amazing Spider-Man 2″ inspired 96,000 mentions — and those were released at a reasonable hour.

“The Guardians of the Galaxy” trailer has drawn more than 4 million views on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!’s” YouTube page.
“The reaction was giddy,” Ben Carlson, president and co-creator of Fizziology, said. “I think a lot of people didn’t know how the film was going to work, it’s five superheroes and one of them is a raccoon and another is a tree. But they nailed the tone. It was light and fun and full of action and you see that reflected in the social media reaction.”

Carlson’s description of the film’s off-beat appeal is accurate. “The Guardians of the Galaxy” centers on a cadre of intergalactic misfits, one of whom is a raccoon adventurer named Rocket (voiced by Bradley Cooper) and another is a tree-like creature called Groot (vocal honors come courtesy of Vin Diesel). Rocket Raccoon was mentioned in 3 percent of conversations, while Groot was only brought up in 1 percent of the social media back-and-forth. But those characters weren’t generating the lion’s share of buzz.

One of the reasons I love Marvel Studios is because they not only make great movies, but they take chances and risks that other studios aren't taking. Who ever thought we'd be getting a Guardians of the Galaxy movie, or an Ant-Man movie? Even Iron Man was a risk. He wasn't an A-lister until after the movie.

From what I've seen on various sites, the reaction to the GOTG trailer seems to be largely positive. They took a concept that sounds silly - it includes a talking, gun-toting raccoon and his best friend, a talking space tree, both of whom are part of a ragtag group of space outlaws - and turned it into something that is shaping up to be a huge hit. You have people who would never touch a comic book being excited for these movies, and it's great to see.

Iron Man and The Dark Knight really did a lot to push comic books into the mainstream. Marvel has taken the ball and run with it more than DC has, but I hope Marvel keeps up these crowd pleasing films for a long time. They've grabbed the average movie goer and (most) of the comic book fans, which is largely a niche market. Marvel's risks are deservedly paying off.

I remember being a kid and wanting an Avengers movie, and that seemed like a long shot. Then it happened, and now we're on our way to seeing guys like Rocket Raccoon, Groot, and Ant-Man in their own movies. Then we'll be seeing Doctor Strange, Black Panther, Ms. Marvel -- it's a great time to be a comic book fan.

In the trailer, was that Ronan grabbing Drax' neck and lifting him up?
