Look at the extras, it's the 1951 version. The actual cover also reflects that too clearly.

If you look at the page for the regular BD of the 1951 version, you'll see mention of the 2008 version too, it's simply a mistake on their part:

As I mentioned earlier, The Fly and The Day the Earth Stood Still have info for both originals and remakes. I've emailed FoxConnect. Mifune, I was wondering if the art was specific, so maybe we can assume the original Earth for now, but I'd like a response from Fox before entering in the database.

Also, at these price points, I'm sure they are just repackages of the same discs.

Let us know what you hear. I'm in for The Fly either way, but I already have the comic-con Earth (1951), and probably won't double-dip.

All of the examples of the new Day The Earth Stood Still on FoxConnect have '08 in the product name.

Actually, the only modern information for the new Special Edition with white slipcover (here) is the Year. The Synopsis, Disk Information and even Rating are for the 1951 original.

Three out of four tells me that this is the original so I'll put it into the database as that; I can always change the Master ID reference.

I know. That was my point. The 2008 version all has "'08" listed in the title.

Ah, okay. And I just noticed now that if you click on "DVD" and "Other Editions" on these new pages, they show versions of the original films (Fly and Earth). So I entered them into the database and the pages should be live by tomorrow (the 21st).
