Your Worst Date!

Ouch. Talk about knocking down some confidence.

This isn't a date, but I thought it was funny (and my wife got a kick out of it too).

So my wife went to Japan last summer. While she was gone, I took the week off of work to just hang out and do whatever. So one night I decide to go to the mall and grab a burger at Five Guys. So I'm sitting in the food court enjoying my meal when a pretty attractive woman with a kid, maybe 5 or 6, sits down at the table across from me. As I've gotten older I've found myself finding older women attractive (even though she couldn't have been over 29), so I gave her a once (maybe twice or thrice ) over and went on with my meal. I noticed she kept kind of looking over, which got me feeling pretty good. I'd never cheat on my wife, but it's nice to know I haven't gone to shit.

So, her and the kid finish up and they get up to leave. They both pass my table, then she stops, turns to me, looks me straight in the eyes, smiles, and says, "Can I ask you a question?" I was kinda like, "Sweet, I must be lookin' good today" (while I'm eating a double cheeseburger and fries ) so I say yes, and she says:


"Do you know if you're going to heaven?"

She was one of those bible thumpers that just randomly accosts people!!! She gave me this whole speech and yada yada, says a prayer for me (oh, and the kid was her little brother . . . that was really the only information I digested) and moves on her way. I sat there and finished up my burger and fries, laughing at the high opinion I had formed of myself for those few seconds.

I told my wife the story and she laughed so hard she couldn't breath.

Ouch mostly due to the cold shower afterwards.

I guess if I'm going to get the brush-off from a nice girl... her being a lesbian helped me to save what was left of what little self esteme I had left.

fortunately I can't recall a really bad one.... of course I'm only 29, and have been with my wife for 7 1/2 years..... plus my memory usually gets cloudy around the time I turned 16 from all of the extra-curricular activities I did in H.S. and College....

Oh man... that's... wow.

As for me... A few years ago...I go to Starbucks near USF in mid-February (around 45 degrees at night in Tampa) and order a drink. The girl behind me orders the same thing. They call out my drink, the girl reaches for it the same time I do... She goes "Tee-hee" asks me to meet her for dinner the following night...

So, I show up at Carrabba's, and get a seat. She comes in wearing a nice red knee-length dress and a coat(in Starbucks, she was in a sweater and jeans).. When she comes to the table, I help her take her coat off, and see... she doesn't shave her pits. Then I look at her legs... doesn't shave those either.

I never had so much food left to take home...


I could write a book of all my bad dates!!!

Well, it least it was just a coffee date and not meeting for dinner or something... ugh, I've been down that path, and know what you mean! Especially blind dates...

If you can't remember one bad date. Even with your wife, maybe you should ask her. She'll know. Trust me.

She'd say "our first" because I've heard her say it OVER AND OVER..... she said I didn't talk, etc.. (kinda like the scene in Goodfellas) but I'm just shy at first..... plus I told her "most people think I'm an ******* until they get to know me" She still reminds me of that..... of course sometimes when she's mad, I tell you "oh... you just don't know me very well yet!!!!"
