The Gametrailers crew is probably frantically trying to weave an intricate web of reasoning behind what has happened... but Mirosoft is probably too busy to get back to them with a plan of action. That could be why they haven't commented on their little (and by little I mean MASSIVE) blunder.
Personally, I can't believe it actually took them that long to remove the video. Somebody is definitely not doing their job! |

Yeah, and to correct their mistake they go and remove the vids off youtube claiming copyright.
Also they're going after the uploader and plan to get them ban from youtube. Wow, that in itself is another mistake. Their true color has shown. There's like dozens of other GT videos on youtube, why only remove this specific one? Oh yeah, that's right, it's call covering your tracks. |

well a comparison if properly done is interesting because it would show how the game actually displays on the different systems.
Anyway in this case I am a bit lost as to the point of this issue. what i really want to know is: is Grid smooth and good on the PS3 ? |

I too would love it if someone who was truly neutral would start making these. And for the love of pete, don't calibrate for one system and then decide that the other will be good enough (the biggest culprit on why existing videos often suck). |

http://www.ps3news.ca/05262008/09/co...id_vs_xbox_360 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- With GRID coming out next week, it's crunch time for Codemasters to get things right after the underwhelming demo. According to executive producer Gavin Raeburn (aka Uncle Chewy), not only have there been major improvements made, but there's more tweaks on the way in patch form. "Firstly, we v-sync every frame, but allow the game to overrun if needed, which is very rare and is much preferable to a complete frame drop," he wrote on the company's official forum. "Secondly, our performance tests show that the 360 is running at a rock solid 30fps and the PS3 rarely drops, being rock solid 99% of the time. San Fran in the demo is probably our worst performer when the action gets really heavy on a couple of those long straights," Raeburn continued. "Thirdly, we don't lead on any platform. We have dedicated teams on each platform as that is the only way to get the best from each of them," he added. "Fourthly, there are some extra performance improvements between the demo and release on PS3 as we were tuning right to the last minute. This should be apparent in our forthcoming reviews. Just to be on the safe side, we also have some further improvements lined up our patch," concluded the Codemasters exec. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- |

I'll be honest, that video is pretty disturbing. If it was intentional by Gametrailers, I'm really disgusted. I try not to become a conspiracy theorist when it comes to favor for the 360 being bought by MS. While I do love my PS3, I do see some games on the 360 I wish I had. I don't hate the 360 though, because competition keeps prices down, and innovation/effort up. Sony would probably not try as hard without MS around.
However, dealings under the table should not be tolerated, whether it's MS or Sony. Videogames have changed from a niche marke to a (what..millions or billions?)-making industry that is viewed by some as another method of getting your hard-earned money into their pockets. Gone are the days when you can make a blind purchase and have a high chance of feeling that the game was worth it. That's why I'm disturbed to see possible evidence of what's supposed to be a legitimate review site trying to alter our opinions to one of their choosing. It's unfair to us gamers as consumers, and is practically theft if we buy a product under false impressions. Good thing that in the end, I rent a game if I'm unsure about buying it. I'll be watching Gametrailers closely from now on, as well as other sites. Although, I am member at Gamespot and see some 360 bias on there. For example, when clicking on stories for a multiplatform game, I always get the 360 story by default. ![]() ![]() |

Media like that is supported 100% via advertising. There's no such thing as an unbiased report. When you start paying for the news, with no ads, perhaps we'll get there. Highly unlikely though.
Reviews are almost always crap. Rent first if you must. It's cheap and you don't waste time reading and getting caught up in stupid reviews. |

I hate to point the finger, but this to me really makes it hard to believe it was a simple mistake. For it to be both on the PS3 and one is significantly better is BS. They hacked it or played the game on a 1985 TV or both. If it was a mistake they should look identical or almost identical depending on the PS3 hookup situation. This isn't even journalism. This isn't even biased journalism! Its downright lying! Even biased journalism has a few facts. I hope everyone who works for gametrailers gets genital warts.
