Well I started with the Final Cut which ended up being the best version. The original version was akward with Harrisn Ford's narration. The directors cut was similar to the final cut but the AQ and PQ weren't as good for some reason. I guess Ridley Scott re-mastered it again for Blu. Overall I'd say the movie was good, but I am puzzled as to why this movie is so popular. It certainly isn't my favorite Sci-fi movie and probably not even in my top 5. I like it enough to keep it though.

Thanks, OP. 'Blade Runner' is coming up soon for me to watch. Slowly making my way through about 10 BDs I have but have yet to make time for.

Rutger Hauer's scenes seem to be the best...........no?

It's good, but I guess i'm not as wild about it as i wanted to be.

I think so. He's a fine actor. His dialog in the closing scene is a real heart breaker. If you haven't seen him in 'Soldier of Orange' check it out.

See... it's all a matter of preference. I first bought the VCR version, so I like having the Harrison Ford Narrative. Yes, now that you listen to it, you know Harrison has nothing for contempt for it, but I like it... it helped me to understand what was going on.

Say it ain't so.... Blade Runner is the heat.... Go with the theatrical release and then the Final Cut that way see if you can figure things out before the Final Cut, and see if you were right with the Final Cut... You know what I'm talking about....

My opinion: go with the Final Cut version on Disc #1 first. I think it's the best cut of the movie.

The violence isn't edited down in the Final Cut version (like it is in the theatrical cut). The MPAA originally made Ridley Scott trim a couple scenes.

I think the narration in the original theatrical cut is really stupid sounding because it's poorly written; the movie is far better served without it. Others may feel different about the narration. I don't think movies have to explain every trivial little thing or spoon-feed exposition to viewers out of fear the viewers won't get the movie. Some things are more interesting if they are left unexplained (like "the force" in Star Wars). Bad science fiction tries to explain everything and thus makes it very boring and very stupid sounding -like how "the force" was described in those Star Wars prequels.

The Final Cut version is, by very far, the best looking version of the 5 different cuts included in the 5-disc BD.

The Final Cut is by far the best version of the film. But since you haven't seen it before you may want to go with the original Theatrical Cut first. The poorly written narration was thrown into the film at the last minute, at the studios insistence, because they didn't think people would be smart enough to fallow along w/o cliff notes.

It depends on whether you're seeing it for the first time, or are a die-hard old man who saw it when it was released in 1982 and has had a love affair with it ever since. I have seen it on SVHS and then the first SD DVD version (Director's Cut) and then waited for what seemed like an eternity for this collection to come out. I bought the SD/Toolkit version and watched it from end to end. I just recently bought the BD version on sale at BB for $19.99 (couldn't resist at that price).

If you are a newbie, I would watch the Final Cut first...then watch the Director's Cut, as it isn't too dissimilar, along with the other versions and the workprint.

It's a shame that they didn't transfer the bonus docs to BD (discs 2 and 4 are SD discs).

Unless you're a big fan like me, you may lose interest after seeing it a number of times, so start off by going with the gold first

so if you're not a stupid person, watch the Final cut! The narration just doesn't work and it is much more apparent when you see the Final cut first.

Simple answer: The Final Cut. Basically it's the same as the director's cut but has the extended violence that was in the international cut, plus there's a few little changes here and there, like a few line changes and some visual effects tweaks (not so much changes but corrections). So, go with the final cut, then maybe go back to the other versions to see all the changes.
