Do you consider The Jerk Too a movie?
Psycho IV was made for Showtime. Scream Factory released Body Bags, that was made for TV.
HBO & Showtime movies aren't exactly the same as a Lifetime program...

And yeah, they are both f'king movies. Hence the word "movie" after "made for TV"...

Regardless, it was heavilly requested on facebook. Cliff & Co. Likely know that it's a wanted title already.

Psycho IV is awful. Why anyone would actually want a Blu-ray release of it is beyond me.

Because...because...because...because..it's part of the series, dude! Don't you know you can't have incomplete franchises on blu ray despite the fact that you are unlikely to ever watch anything the beyond the first film?

I think Psycho IV is just fine as a movie. The only thing that ever really bothered me about it was the fact that Robert Bloch felt the need to throw out continuity from II & III. And I'd love to have it on blu

I agree, I thought Anthony Perkins did a great job as always in IV and would really like to see a Blu-ray release.

There's a lot of truth in that.

I think Psycho IV is a serious step down from III, let alone II, let alone the original...but if Scream released it... <sigh>

What the hell, right? I mean, I own the first season of Bates Motel, so I guess I'll buy just about anything.

No I imagine he means regardless - http://www.quickanddirtytips.com/edu...sus-regardless

And Psycho IV is a movie. A 'TV movie' is, by definition, a movie. This is a fact, there's no debating it. Any other view is irrational and incorrect.

I also don't understand how you can have almost 2500 Blu-rays and then begrudge people Psycho IV on Blu-ray.

Nope. I don't like III or IV. I don't think that has anything to do with it. More that I've seen a good few TV movies which best a lot of theatrical ones.

Maybe it's just nostalgia, but I like Psycho 4 and would love to have it on Blu-ray, and not because I just want to complete the series. Sure, it's not great, but I didn't think part 3 was all that great either. None of the sequels are as good as the original, but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy each one.

Think i've seen bits and bobs of Psycho 2 and that's it. This was when I was about 14 or 15. I can't imagine these sequels hold up all well.

Part 2 is definitely worth your time, prestige. I've rarely heard anyone describe it as anything less than "surprisingly good" or "a worthy successor". Some people go over the top, saying it's even better than the first, but to each his own.

Hell, I even love part 3, which is a bizarre amalgam of 80s slasher sleaze and ghoulish Hitchcockian humour (courtesy of far-better-than-it-requires direction from Perkins himself). At the very least, parts 2 and 3 are two of the most effective horror sequels in an era that was absolutely rife with them.

Part 4 is just an afterthought. And that Bates Motel nonsense that's making the rounds right now -- it's hard to know where to begin with that hot mess.

I'll give part 2 a chance then. Think i'll try and order a DVD from Lovefilm or something though. I don't think that there is a blu ray version in the UK. If 2 turns out to be at least watchable then i'll try 3 next.

I've been rather curious about The Bates Motel tv show, though. The fact that it has come out during The Golden Era Of Televsion makes me think that it should at least be worth a watch, but your comments suggest otherwise?

I love them all and Bates Motel is entertaining if you go into knowing that the only tie in to the films is that some names are the same, that's about it.

If you're inquiring about the current TV show of Bates Motel, then yes, it's excellent. I love it. Even though I know where the story is going to end up, it manages to give new and interesting stories but still remains true to the characters. However, there's also an 80's TV movie called Bates Motel, which some people were referring to in earlier posts. I haven't seen that one, but I have heard it's not very good. It doesn't have Norman Bates but instead someone else who inherits the place after Norman's death and puts it back in business.
