Hakeem Nicks looking for a one-year "make good" contract. Would love to see the Ravens take a chance on him. If he can bring back some of the explosiveness he'll do great aside Torrey Smith.

We have about 10.2m, I believe. Last year we got Glover Quin 5yr 23.5m, Jason Jones 3yr 9.5m, Chris Houston 5yr 25m , Reggie Bush 4yr 16m for roughly 8M in first-year cap space

We don't have much but I could see us getting either one, clearly not both. Probably T.J but Verner would be a bonus.

That cap increase helped out I suppose. Considering Verner wants 10 million per year, it will be tough for you guys to sign him.

$15 million this year, 6 next year and 9 the 3rd year if I remember correctly.

Thompson had to resign him......you can't keep relying on the draft and hope the next guy will just step into the position. if Thompson didn't give him this contract, someone else would have. a speed guy that can cover and go after the ball.....someone was going to pay him.....so I'm happy it was my team for once.

if he wants the Packers to have any chance of taking down San Francisco or Seattle, they need veterans on the team.

yeah it may be to much the 1st year, but they need stability in the secondary. Hopefully he can find a safety in the 1st round that can step in and help too.

Is that what this means... Don't think Idzik will him 10 mill per year. If it's 7-8 per then I would sign him for that. I'd rather have Byrd though.

We're sitting at 31 million under and should go down another 16.5 with the releases of Holmes and Sanchez. I don't want us to use up all our space. We need to continue to build through the draft, which I think is what Idzik will do. My ideal situation would be to sign Nicks to a one year deal. Sign either Byrd or Verner. Resign Howard. Extend Mo's contract. Look into signing Ware if he is cut (depends on cost). Sign Schwartz or Beadles to play LG and move Winters to RG. Draft Cooks in rd 1.
