This. I only posted the inner ring number (A0101909268-B911 2000), because the outer ring number is very hard to read with my disc. The outer ring number of my disc is A0101909268-A911 1000 - the same number Braktastic posted.

As for the timestamps of the folders: It's 12/20/2011 with my disc, but I don't think it matters.

I think, you guys really should learn to relax . I don't think there exist French steel books with a bad disc ...

Yeah, sorry for causing all the commotion. I moved to a different light source and was able to read the inner ring, which is A0101909268-B911 2000. And the wolf scene on my disc looks a lot more like the screen cap EddieLarkin provided.

So I think I'm good. Better to be safe than, sorry, but my apologies for causing a stir.

I have both the old disc and new disc playing simultaneously on my computer, switching back and forth between the audio on each. They sound identical to me. BDInfo scans show identical disc layouts and bitrates, too. The only thing I don't understand is that the disc numbers changed slightly:

Old - A0101774530-A911 1000 / A0101774530-B911 1000
New - A0101774530-A911 2000 / A0101774530-B911 3000

That being said, I know the film pretty well (as a kid I always preferred Destroyer to Barbarian and probably watched it 50 times on VHS) and I don't have a problem with the way this disc sounds. I suppose it may be the tiniest bit higher pitched than it should be, but it's not really noticeable unless you're nit-picking or have pitch-perfect hearing.

That does have the uncut version of the movie, but it's not the new pressing with the fixed audio. That's the original French release which has now been re-released in the Steelbook with fixed audio.

Destroyer is the same everywhere as far as I know.

I don't know about the UK, but I live in Canada and ordering from Amazon France was as easy as ordering from Amazon Canada. It arrived in a little over a week.

Here's the different editions that I can think of on the top of my head:

The U.S. release by Universal: This has the shorter version of the film. The audio's also faulty on it's 5.1 track and the night filter during the wolf scene is missing. The film's fully uncut though.

The U.K. release by Fox (1st pressing): Has the same issues as the U.S. BD, the only difference is that the film's presented in its extended cut & it's censored. But there's a loophole to watch the uncut version.

The U.K. by Fox (2nd pressing): All the issues from the 1st pressing & the U.S. BD are fixed & the original mono mix was included, also all the international languages were dropped from the disc. Unfortunately it only has the censored version of the film and the loophole was removed.

The French Steelbook by MGM: Overall it's the same as the 2nd pressing of the U.K. disc, the only difference being that the film's uncut now.

I'm also guessing that it has a French language option seeing as it's a French release lol.

All these different editions were sourced from the same HD master.

I hope this info helps.

Thanks for the summary!

I've been wanting to get these movies on Blu for a while, but I've been confused by all the versions available.

Based on your post, I ordered the French steelbook today!

Is Conan The Barbarian Steelbook zone free?

I've brought last year the UK blu of Conan The Barbarian because the french dub and the uncut version were included.
They send me the second pressing.

thanks

Yes, it says A,B,C right on the back. I got mine today (March 28). Ordered it March 12. Pretty good turnaround from France to the U.S. Popped both discs into my standard U.S. (Region A) player and they played great.

I love the discs. HATE the steelbook. When you open it, there is no insert page/card with chapter stops or other info, so they waste the space on the left side and then put the two discs on top of each other on the right. I took my discs out and they are NOT returning to the steelbook. I put them in separate, standard blu-ray cases. Thank you, AGENT BOND. I used your custom case artwork for both.

Default Conan The Destroyer Hong Kong Blu-Ray

I didn't read all 100+ pages of this thread at first. So now that I have the French Steelbook and am set for both movies, I have a sealed Conan The Destroyer Hong Kong Blu-Ray if anyone in the lower 48 U.S. is looking to buy a copy. It has all the xtras (that aren't on the US barebones blu). PM if you're interested. I ordered this a day or two before I realized I wanted the French Steelbook and ordered it. Oh well, I live and learn.
