Depends who you ask.

Lots of folks love Rushmore and think that's his best. I didn't enjoy it at all (in my one watch, and I do intend to revisit it) and my favourite is now Moonrise Kingdom, with Life Aquatic coming in second.

Life Aquatic is my favorite out of Wes Anderson's films, but The Darjeeling Limited in my opinion is his best piece of work. But overall everything that he has done I have enjoyed.

Are they really gonna wait until the 17th AGAIN to announce new titles this month?

Watched The Earrings of Madame De... last night.

Incredible film, I think will likely be one of my very favourite Criterion films, which I hate to say after one watch - But I really loved it.

And I consider myself lucky to have such unrefined eyes that I couldn't see the problems with the transfer. I'm glad I didn't let the negative buzz keep me away from the Blu Ray.

Let's hope Amazon will spill the beans earlier like they did last month

I didn't like that, it was kinda anti-climatic.

It's so fun checking the site on the day when they are announced.

You'd have really hated it a few years ago, when Criterion Cast would tweet out the trailers to the films that were going to be announced.

Wouldn't you believe I bought both MoC editions from the UK the month before the Region A were announced from Universal? No matter, I feel pretty confident that the MoC Touch of Evil will end up being the superior release given the options on aspect ratios. And they're evenly priced... at least at the moment.

Pretty sure the transfers will be identical.

Good god, don't start with Life Aquatic.

Start with Rushmore.

The double indemnity steelbook is really great. I havent checked up on the US release. Is it supposed to be superior?

What are the chances of Criterion realeasing these titles?

Murder by Death (1976)
Memento (2000)
Dawn of the Dead (1978)
The Strange Vice of Mrs. Wardh (1971)
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966)
Escape from New York (1981)
Pandora's Box (1929)
Blood and Black Lace (1964)
A Bay of Blood (1971)
The Great Silence (1968)
Lost in Translation (2003)
The Killer (1989)

It hasn't been released but I assume the PQ is identical (think Universal licensed the transfer to Eureka) and AQ will be comparable. I want to say that for Double Indemnity, the US release was going to have 1 or 2 extras that are not on the MoC release... maybe a later TV movie of the same story? I'd have to go check.

I think the Touch of Evil extras are all the same but the Universal US release is only including the 1.85 hard matted versions and not the full frame 1:33 versions as well (MoC offers 1.85 and 1.33 on the Theatrical and Reconstructed Versions, and 1.85 on the Preview Version).

Sorry for the OT.

I know and I own that release. But a new blu-ray would be stellar.

I would recommend Moonrise Kingdom. I watched Rushmore, Life Aquatic, and Fantastic Mr. Fox and for some reason none of them really clicked with me. LOVED Moonrise Kindgom though and I plan on revisiting those previous titles. I have heard from others that a lot of his films require multiple viewing, but Moonrise did it for me on the first watch

I have Moonrise Kingdom in digital copy form. Just have never got around to watching it. May give that and Rushmore a watch soon.

I agree. Diary of a Lost Girl would also be a nice addition to the Collection but I'd be happy with any quality upgrade of it.
