I was going to order it with the TBT code the other day at 4.99, but the same issue since I didn't have anything else to add to the cart to get FS.
It's still cheaper than Amazon's current price, but only by a few cents. I personally don't get charged tax at FC, but I do at Amazon, plus I don't have Prime, so FC would definitely be the option for me.

in the mail... can't wait to see this on blu-ray!

I've owned this twice on laserdisc... and once on (the horrible looking) DVD.

finally... finally... an image worthy of projection... I hope!

well I received The Black Stallion in the mail today. The good news is the Picture Quality looks great with only an occasional speck of damage visible. which doesn't bother me at all

The not so good news is that it has no special features outside of the theatrical trailer. Also It has no menu which bugs me because the disc auto-plays as soon as you put the disc in

but for the price fox is asking for this disc its still well worth it for anyone who has even the mildest interest in seeing the film

4/5 in my book

now hopefully we can get the sequel on BD too

Great news. How's the lossless audio? The laserdisc PCM was really something especially with the drum-beat during the initial beach-scenes.

I'm ok with no special features and heading right to the movie... reminds me of laserdisc without being forced through ads and warnings

Special features would have nice... but to have the movie looking and sounding as it should is what I'm after!

Thanks for posting!!

well I can't say really say much about the audio in terms of comparing it because the last time I watched it was on a 19" TV with just 2 speakers.
I only recently got a new 55" LED TV and 5.1 system this past December.

all I can say is that it hearing it in 5.1 was the best I have ever heard it. And That the films audio upgrade definitely made some of the scenes even more powerful then I remember.

Is this movie worth a Blind Buy at the cheap $8.99 on Amazon? It looks like an interesting family movie!

Thanks for the info, but can you also please confirm what is actually available on the disc? I have quite a few Blu-rays that offer Portuguese subtitles and/or audio, even though it is not listed on the cover.

Thanks!

I have Updated my above post based on the Actual Disc this this time sorry for any confusion I may have caused. Thank you for alerting me that the packaging with the disc is often incorrect.

Yes. Yes. Yes. This should be made a law! I do like Criterion menus, though... but for everything else... direct play!

Kind of like when I put a CD or Record on. It just plays. Amazing concept, I know. Yes, I like previews & trailers... but they should be treated with the respect they deserve and accessed via the Supplements menu.

Ok. Off my soapbox.

Has anyone seen this in any B&M stores? I looked at Walmart and didn't see it.
