I really hope that Anchor Bay gets their shit together and releases the other Phantasm movies this year, being the first film's 35th Anniversary.

I can see Image releasing House (hopefully both as a double) this year, with last year's Creepshow 2.

Pumpkinhead, Dolls, Dr. Phibes Rises Again, and Without Warning are all likely to come from Scream.

Wasn't there something going around last year that Anchor Bay had lost the rights to Phantasm?

From that list, and regardless if Scream Factory can ever gets their paws on them, The Burbs, The Hitcher, Jaws 2, Duel, House, and The Changeling are high on my blu-ray wish list. I wonder if Scream Factory could ever get Day of the Triffids?

That would be so cool if shout/ Scream got ahold of the Miramax library.
So many titles need an upgrade. Would love a special edition of the Faculty, Halloween 6/7, and so many others.

I'm not a big fan of Leviathan. I found it to be kind of a poor underwater rip-off of The Thing. I'm happy that the fans are getting it though.

I wish Scream Factory would release more of what I would term "arty horror" movies. Stuff like Apartment Zero, ExistenZ, Bug, Gozu, The Tenant, etc. I imagine the reason they don't release that sort of stuff is because those kind of movies don't sell very well. I guess those movies don't really fit in with their catalog either. I'd really like to have some nice releases of some arty horror movies though.

Well, I went and did it. I made a petition for Lionsgate to release some of their horror titles. I included all on the top 50 they owned and those I listed earlier to test the waters. Please sign so we can all get these titles.

Unfortunately, around 60 - 70% of the titles on that list reside with companies like Sony, Warner Brothers, Lionsgate, Anchor Bay, Image or other companies that are unlikely to license titles to Shout! Factory.

It looks like Phantasm has been removed from Anchor Bay's catalog of titles, though it can still be located via search, though suspiciously without any links to buy it on Amazon. It was still part of the catalog listing when I last checked a couple weeks ago, so I have a feeling they may have actually lost that one, finally.

Phantasm III and IV are both still on their catalog listing.

I am looking forward to receiving The Slumber Party Massacre blu ray this week. I have been impressed with these Scream Factory releases, and I look forward to seeing more of my horror favorites released on blu ray. I would love to see a release of Superstition (1982).

Try Amazon. Phantasm II and From Beyond are currently $19.99. Some marketplace sellers are offering copies for $18 or less. You're probably not going to find these cheaper anywhere else (excepting an occasional sale).

I didn't even know that Family Video preordered movies. I just thought they rented movies and sold their own copies. Are they usually pretty cheap there or on par with everyone else?

So it does seem like $19.99 is a "good deal" on these type of movies. Is there a good list of which ones are "must owns" for a typical horror fan? I have never seen most of these movies. I wish Redbox had them to rent or something. I was in Family Video tonight and didn't really see any of them to rent on blu ray either.
