Just 2 for me. Wild at Heart and Broadway Danny Rose.

I envy those who can afford more.

Excited to upgrade from my DVD of Wild at Heart. Broadway Danny Rose will be a blind-buy for me, but I have faith in Woody.

Yes. And it's also in one's order history on the SAE site.

"Do we know for sure that Violent Saturday will be upgraded to Blu-ray by Twilight Time later this year? I was tempted to grab the DVD, but didn't."

A post on backalleynoir.com also says TT confirmed Violent Saturday upgrade sometime this year. With TT putting the DVD on sale, looks to me like they are clearing out old stock to prepare for the updgarde release. I watched the preview of the Eureka/MOC bluray, and it really looks good. Day 1 purchase all the way. Classic noir in Cinemascope.

MoC - and it will include two featurettes that the TT disc almost certainly won't. However, one of them is an appreciation with William Friedkin, so you won't be missing much there.

I'm not kidding, I have no idea. I just can't imagine CDs of movie scores being quite as popular as blu-rays of movies. The blu-rays are pretty niche as it is, so I picture CD scores being niche-niche-niche. About three degrees of niche.

You tell me, when a round of limited edition scores comes out, is there the same kind of feeding frenzy that there appears to be with the TT blu-rays?

There used to be a few years back. I think now companies like Intrada don't always stick to the 3,000 copies model, so sell outs are harder to predict. Back in 2010 they put out a release of Alan Silvestri's score for Predetor that sold out in a matter of hours (much like the Twilight Time blu-ray of Christine). I think it's all a matter of who composed the score, and what genre or time period the score was put out that determined how quick something would sell out. I would guess if something like the Elmer Bernstein score to Ghostbusters went back into print, it would sell out fairly quickly.

Not that it matters or that anyone particularly cares but it has been reported that Eureka! is releasing 'Violent Saturday' to the "Eureka! Classics" line (or is the British term strand?) as opposed to 'Masters of Cinema.'

But if Richard Fleischer isn't a Master of Cinema, who is?

I'm not sure if the Eureka! release will include the typically thick MoC booklet.

Any new sell-outs from the sale? I thought after the dust settled yesterday there might be a few new ones on the sold-out list. I don't really keep up with the numbers though, so not sure if any were close or not.

Since the cart trick no longer works, there's really no way to know until they actually disappear from the SAE website.

I would think that they'd send out an email if certain titles get to certain lower marks of 400-500 left.

I usually get those emails a day or so after people start posting about them on here, so just wondered if anyone had heard yet.

How long the preauthorization hold is in place probably depends on your account institution. The hold at my credit union was exactly 24 hours.

People here have this wonderfully snobby attitude that what is posted and commented on here applies world wide.

Jaunt on over to a soundtrack forum and you'll find people slobbering over niche niche niche stuff. The audience here is only slightly wider, but it still leads to "look how popular such and such is here" when in fat outside of here it's barely on the radar.

In short, this too is a niche crowd but no one wants to acknowledge it, rather the opposite.

My previous comments said that blu-ray is niche, and that I thought soundtracks are even more niche. Despite my "snobby attitude" your comments that I have bolded confirm this. In any event my original comment was speculation on how much more busy SAE must be now with the blu-ray sales, and judging by their top sellers charts ever time there's a pre-order, clearly the interest in blu-rays is far greater than CD soundtracks.

Since TT hasn't said anything different, I would say "yes".

They said they would give out alerts on the SAE website as well when stock reaches that threshold.

The cart trick still works if there are less than 50 left. Apparently, 50 is now the maximum you can put in your cart now. However if there are less than 50 left with no limits on quantities, then they probably won't last enough for anyone to even try the cart trick.
