I think I have a new favorite. SteelBooks like these are why I started collecting. I can't wait to get the Frozen lenticular steel.

Nice, I was watching that auction on ebay. I could never work up the nerve to drop the $106 on it though. I'm still trying to get a trade plus cash somewhere on the forums because I just can't spend the dough.

I may have accidentally found a 1/4 slip for £45 and I admit I'm tempted (even though I limit my steel expenditure to £35...)

what do you guys think?

I think that's a bargain!

Edit: Given that this probably isn't too far off what was paid including shipping originally. Plus you have no risk of customs fees (if the seller is in the UK)

How do you figure? I'm saying I'll get it for retail so they don't lose money they get it all back.

There are costs associated with selling something. If I buy a steelbook, I have shipping to me, then when I sell it, I have Ebay/Paypal fee's and shipping to the buyer. For someone to get it at retail after the fact, the seller has to take a loss....

That's why I pretty much only buy from fellow collectors to avoid all those extra charges. I've had no issues in the past. And have acquired many rare gems at cost. It happens more often than people think.

I found this on Amazon, seriously considered buying it, until i confirmed that the seller, in fact, was asking over $300. Too bad, it's nice. Thanfully, i have a copy of the Frozen lent coming.

Okay, if you can arrange steelbook miracles like that...I'll buy, from you:

Thor Kimchi 1/4 or full, doesn't matter
Frozen Kimchi 1/4 or full, doesn't matter

Just PM when you have them.

I said I've gotten rare gems, not this rare gem. Not Thor or Frozen. A recent example. When I first learned about SteelBooks 3-4 yrs ago I immediately wanted an Avatar SteelBook so being naive I thought I could score one np on the bay. Low and behold the Hong Kong Gift Set I wanted was never to be seen for under $100. Long story short just got it brand new sealed in mint condition for $40 at auction shipped from Singapore. So patience has its own rewards. Now I can treasure it properly. Had I paid over $100 for it, it would just be an eye sore for me. That's a miracle wouldn't you say?

It depends on the person really, some are like you and others put a price on that 3-4 years of enjoyment that you lost out on waiting for the price drop. that's all...

This is true. I too enjoyed the hundreds of dollars that I saved in waiting all those years. So your right, to each his own.

Okay, so just to make a believer out of me, can you use your "patience technique" and score me Thor/Frozen Kimchi for cost....OR, just point me in the direction of someone selling for cost. Thank you.

Good thing I got this while it was still available. Now I don't have to break my wallet for one on ebay.

the T2 Kimchi steelbooks have made their way onto ebay & other sites for under £50-can imagine people will sell spares of Frozen & tangled this time next year when they become less collectable...
