Dynasty Warriors 8

Dynasty Warriors 8 has been announced for Japan for PS4. The numbering of the series is a little different in Japan than here in the West, so that ’8′ isn’t a typo.

The game was confirmed during Sony’s Japanese press event today, and will launch on February 22, the same day PS4 hits Japan.

There is a boat load of content in this game.

After playing around an hour I noticed it looks like a polished PS3 game with the higher resolution. Cutscenes do look good. There are more characters on screen at once & the PS4 version seems to have a solid frame rate.

The audio is good. Nothing to jump up & down about. Voice instructions from your members while playing chime in on what you should be doing through the DS4 controller. Unfortunately it also plays through your tv/sound system so ya might wanna mute the controller audio.

One thing ya should definitely not do as I already made this mistake..

If you press the PS button to go to home screen while in-game. The game continues & does not pause. Make sure ya pause game before pressing PS button.

Got this version of the game in mail today;


I'm posting about it as I couldn't find any mention online of what DLC was actually included in this version (DLC not on disc, code on a paper slip inside case). There are a total of 69 DLC packs, yes you read that right 69, 3 of those are free (2 character costume packs & Japanese voice option).
So I found it frustrating that no-one outlined which of the 66 paid packs were included. All I could find was the obvious, what was listed on the cover;

So it turns out that 8 of the 66 paid DLC are included, here's all the info itemised;

I paid £20.95 at Amazon, so a decent value over the standard retail game which is about £15 used or new.
If you do buy this set, only buy new (the DLC is via download not on disc) and the paper slip with the code lists an expiry date of 29th October 2018.
For non-UK PSN accounts, I'm not even sure the voucher code would work so I don't think its worth the effort of importing. EU accounts are a possibility, but maybe worth emailing Sony and/or Koei Techmo to see if the code is UK only.
