The steelbook market, right now, kind of reminds me of the comicbook markey back in the early 90's.

Any chance that any of the Chinese releases will include a 3D copy?

Please change OP with "1987"...to prevent inconsistencies!

It reminds me of when sports cards went to the numbered, limited, autographed jersey card stuff in the late 90s/early 2000s personally. I don't remember anything being very limited about comics in the 90s. Very gimmicky with chromium, foil, and lenticular covers though. Image and Marvel had huge print runs for all of the main titles (and even most of the bad ones too) and most of those books ended up in quarter boxes a year later and are probably still sitting there to this day.

Not so much limited, just gluttoning up the market. Once Image paved the way, everybody was getting in on the game. Of course then Marvel/DC had to respond and the market, basically, imploded on itself. Shops were stuck trying to move product and were selling for pennies on the dollar. Pretty soon, the same thing can happen to the steelbook market....although I hope not.

That would be great, cheap SB's then. Then after they become cheap the studios will stop for a few years and then come back and the market died down.

Haha....Studios stop? Maybe they will, but I doubt it.
It's going to be interesting to see folks, with 1000+ BDs, and are steelbook collectors start "converting" all their amarays over to steelbook, or collectible packaging. I know I'm well on my way!

I need to see art and details for making a decision on this. Currently leaning towards the 'keep the $$ in my pocket' side.

I suppose if you keep the steelbook sealed it's less silly, but as I mostly open my steelbooks and watch them I've never understood the fascination with the asian steelbooks that have the same artwork as a US or European release. In theory you could buy 250 copies of a steelbook title, have a fancy slip printed, shrinkwrap them and sell them as the 'myanmar limited edition steelbook - ony 250 copies'.

I canceled 9 or so Zavvi orders the other day. Too many overpriced "exclusive" SteelBooks of movies I like, but don't love. Time to curb this shiz.

They are all shipped now and I have received all the tracking #. However they are not in Excel file format. I have to make a list and post them later tonight. Don't worry about it. I am on it.
