Ditto

And it's good to hear that Disney actually held a Premiere Party for this Blu-ray release. Good support for the format.

Thumbs up

This is another Disney title that I've really been looking forward to on Blu-ray.

After seeing the kind of enthusiasm that Disney, Fox, Panasonic, and other companies have for Blu-ray I don't see how anyone but the most brain-washed HD DUD fanboy can say this is a Sony format only.

This is confirmed too by Digitalbits.com and expect more titles to be announced soon this is really a gorgeous news

Hey guys... we'll be back with more later this morning, but first we wanted to check in early with a quick bit of Disney release news. At a press event in Hollywood last night for the forthcoming Pirates high-def release, Buena Vista Home Entertainment president Bob Chapek revealed that his company has started production on the Blu-ray Disc release of The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, likely due to hit stores in time for the holidays later this year. Additional titles are also in production, so look for more announcements in the coming weeks. We'll have details as they become available.

expect a complete review of POTC during the week.Gorgeous i'm waiting to read the 1st review of POTC hopefully CHAD will post his review before others.

I watched the video of Liar's Dice and still don't understand how to play.

Lots of good Disney/Blu news this week.

Did you go to college? Hard to get through and not learn Liars' Dice, at least on the West Coast.

"Narnia" or the Disney preview? Anyway, it's a kids' movie that also has broad adult appeal but isn't specifically made for adults. Personally I loved it and thought it was a solid interpretation of the book.

Bottom line, "Narnia" is a major blockbuster that will move many units and pad the stats for Blu-ray. Not a death blow but a major body shot at least.

What a pity the Narnia on BD isnt going to be the extended edition. I am going to wait for this to be confirmed but it looks like this one is coming off my preorder list.

i didn't like the extended edition... the musical score looping annoyed me. The extra scenes did't really enhance the story, it just made it longer. I want my movies lean... like they were grilled in a George Foreman.

I just don't understand why this keeps happening, though. Certainly with BD, heck, people should get both versions (or more) of a given film along with everything else.

Yeah, there is no reason they can't include both versions of LWW. Unless like I seem to keep hearing the extended one was poorly done (looped score) and they don't want to. It never made it out anywhere in the world other than the US, BTW.

For me, Blu Ray should ALWAYS have the extras, extended editions, etc. We are paying for the absolute best and should get it, whether folks like the additions or not, there is no reason a studio should supply us anything short.

I am dissapointed because this was one I had preordered and was kind of excited to get.

If anything I'd like a shorter version with the extra scenes they wrote removed. The extended version really did nothing, just a bit of extra FX

But dont you think one should have a choice? Espescially when paying a Blu Ray premium?

Ya, I get your point. If it can be done with seamless branching, go for it. If not, then I'd rather have my movie exactly as the director wanted it to be. Put the extras on a different disc.
