NOT ANOTHER TEEN MOVIE doesn't offer anything new or interesting in its spoofing. It doesn't dare to be anything more than a series of routine, easy jokes using the John Hughes films as a source for its lazy parody. I've always struggled to see how this movie received any acclaim.

I interviewed Jamie Pressly and Eric Christian Olsen during the press rounds for that movie. Never had I interviewed anyone so disinterested in talking about or plugging the movie. The most interesting anecdotes concerned how awful Molly Ringwold was to everyone the day she appeared on set. Anyway, the notion that anyone would play $30 for this movie on BD confounds me.

But this has gone off topic I suppose. So I shall retire from my disbelief.

I wonder how long it will take SAE to send out shipments for people that only bought items in the last few days if they didn't buy any items that are up for pre-order right now?

Same with me. I only ordered items that were on sale. I'm hoping since at this point it's a few weeks before the April titles start going out that they can send out the orders for people who didn't pre-order anything.

Well, I feel that way about several titles that TT has actually released. All that means is that there's no accounting for taste.

One man's trash is another man's treasure, and so on.

Yeah right on brother...let's hope and pray to some higher power that TT will release Carrot Top's Chairman of the Board and some Freddie Prinze Jr. classics too. Would love to hear the isolated scores and read the insightful and in no way snarky Julie Kirgo linear notes.

I ordered three titles that have all been out for a while, and I got a shipping notification today.

I received the March releases plus the autographed DRIVER today. I ordered MY COUSIN RACHEL, SOUND AND THE FURY, AND BLUE LAGOON during the sale and they were shipped out today. I ordered CONRACK and PONY SOLDIER over the weekend, and the order is pending. Like others, I've given up on expecting fast service from SAE so when I get it, I'm surprised. I did not expect any of my orders to ship out during the sale. I'm waiting for someone on TT's facebook page to complain TT & SAE didn't advertise the sale properly so they didn't get the blu-rays they wanted.

The Bad News: I broke down during the sale and, in a moment of weakness fueled by many beers, ordered Mindwarp from my iPhone while at a friend's barbeque Sunday night. I feel so.....dirty. The one TT title I swore I would never order because it was not worth their limited edition pricing. I guess there is a completist in me somewhere lurking for the unexpected sale that I must now come to grips with....at least when I am drinking Coronas. One more reason to stick with small label beers. I think they foster better judgment.

The Good News: I also pre-ordered Don Siegel's Riot in Cell Block 11 which is on SAE's website for $20.95. Since the Criterion doesn't release until late April, and SAE won't ship the order until then, I have almost a month to change my mind on Mindwarp.

The unspeakable things one is capable of doing in a moment of weakness: starting a fight in a bar, cheating on your wife, or even buying Mindwarp. What a monster we become under the influence of drink. :P

While I wouldn't care for any of those, if that's what TT wanted to release, and they had enough fans to support those releases, more power to them.

The fact is that no matter what they release, there will be people who will cheer, and people who will gag.

The only people who can be reasonably upset with TT releasing things they don't want are people who feel compelled to be completists.

I'll take one! Don't care who releases it, as long as it's not all garbaged up.

I couldn't agree more.

For some reason the people who order early always seem to be the last to ship. If it isn't going to be a fast sell out just wait until a few day before release date and order then.

I've heard nothing from SAE regarding my March order (All the King's Men, Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia, Bonjour Tristesse) or my orders placed this week during the sale. Something will come down the pipes soon, I figure. I hope.

I wouldn't do that as it certainly isn't always the case. I ordered Alfredo Garcia the moment it went live, and my order was shipped on the 14th March, which was the first or second day that this title shipped, once they got hold of non eco cases.
