It between these two, either are $499/ea. If anyone can provide feedback on either or, that would be most appreciated. I am leaning towards teh RTi A7s myself. The Klipsch have more sensitivity...i'm thinking the A7s will still sound better. Any opinions?
A7s since it has one mid-range speaker (6.5") one tweeter and 2 - 7" subs Power Range 20-300 Frequency Response35-26k Hz Sensitivity 89 dB the RF-82 has one horn loaded tweeter and 2 - 8" subs Power Range 50-150 Frequency Response 33-23k Hz Sensitivity 98 @ 2.83V dB |

Where do you live, Tweeter caries both lines (Sound advice in Fl.)
Both are good. Im a fan of both Klipsch and Polk audio, Polk has a "Warmer" sound and Klipsch is what it is... horn loaded and accurate. Listen to both.. As for opnion, Klipsch for movies and some music. Polk for music and some movies what will be their main use? |

Most of the tweeters in my area are closing down. I do know where one is that is in reasonable distance. but they didn't have them....which could be they didn't have the new Klipsch yet. my primary use would be for movies/gaming. music would be 3rd down the line. |

All I can say is to avoid both, and look at other speaker manufactures. I know this board seems to have a love affair with Polk and Klipsch, but you should really check out others. Stay out of the Best Buys, Circuit Cities, etc - instead check out some of the smaller stores in your area and check out speaker reviews from reliable publications. In your price range you have many possibilities. Stay away from mass market speakers.
Just my opinion. |

Well I haven't heard the Polks so I can't say, but if you could, go check out some B&W 683's. I was very impressed with the sound for $1500(pr.).

I don't know off hand any models, but brands off the top of my head that I would recommend a listen would be Monitor Audio, Paradigm, Energy, B&W, Axiom, PSB, NHT, AV123 - but there are many more great speakers companies. I believe all these I mentioned have models in the OPs price range, and think most would be better then Polk or Klipsch (though only in my opinion). |

Side by side auditions only matter in the right situation - like an quite enclosed room and using the same source material. While side by side in the right situation is ideal, you can still learn a lot by listening to speaker separately at different locations.

true and this is typically how i test. same source, same room, same everything, same song, movie clip, just different speakers. to try and pick apart the differences between the speakers. there is a nice place...its a bit away but they do private demos. quiet rooms....i'll have to check on what speakers they have. but they have at least 10 different front projection rooms, which is also a next purchase RS1 or VW40 or AE2000.
