Toho is basically waiting for the rights to expire on Godzilla 85 so they can offer it without any legal issues. I read on the Godzilla threads in this forum on the upcoming Godzilla blu ray releases that it wont be this year...but it will be sooner than later. There is Godzilla insider KPA here from time to time to share his news and info.

I'm pretty sure the original US TV version is with Warner Brothers via Hanna-Barbera Productions, so that would probably be a no-go.

Ah, but what about the European theatrical cut?

Image probably handles the rights.

My guess is still Phantasm. I know it's been shot down, but Scream has and is always full of surprises.

Sorry, not to sound rude or disrespectful but you're wrong about everything you just wrote here
G85 isnt with Image...from what Ive read on the Godzilla blu ray threads in this forum it was with New World pictures - which dissolved but some other studio picked up where the rights left off... it's a *legal* mess , but Toho knows who has it and when the rights expire they will offer it

Is there a certain part of *we arent releasing it* - not once, but twice this week that youre not getting ? Come on now !

Lakeshore Entertainment is the successor-in-interest to the New World Pictures catalog. They've had a distribution agreement with Image for a few years now after having ended a long-term relationship with Anchor Bay that dated back to the days of one of it's predecessors, Starmaker Entertainment. Whether Lakeshore Entertainment still has Godzilla 1985 or not....

It's supposed to be on one of the Kissology DVDs, IIRC. I have no idea who owns the rights to that version or where it was licensed from. The band itself or Studio Canal (as successor-in-interest to distributor, Avco-Embassy) would be my best guesses. I'm not sure either scenario works out any better than Warner Brothers, though.

It could be The Legend of Hell House or Hellhole. As Wikipedia lists it.

Without Warning or Killer Klowns From Outerspace would be nice.

There's already a pretty good blu-ray of that though. Something not previously released (or something that had a shoddy release.,)would be much better.

I agree here. No point in releasing something...again. If it has a decent transfer leave it alone.

The Killer Klowns From Outer Space blu-ray is great. I don't see how it could be improved upon enough to warrant a brand-new edition.

Im surprised no one has guessed Squirm - I was reading a quote from Scream from Monday (It's a good one and has been hard to keep a lid on it.)

And I remembered reading a post from an *insider* on Facebook saying that they had Squirm. That was MONTHS ago ! Up until now that "leak" has been completely untrue. Maybe that is the title that has been "hard to keep a lid on" because it was mentioned in a Facebook post that they had the film. It still could be totally false...If they dont announce it tomorrow, I would just assume that the person posting it was wrong to make such a statement. You know how some people are when they think they know everything and think they're hot stuff to make some kind of revelation about a title

Nobody should get their hopes high that they do have it since it has not been announced and they may not even have it in the first place.

Anyway I dont put much faith in leaks and nothing is true until SF makes an official announcement....but it was something I recalled and should still be taken as a grain of salt. I know that studios and their reps read the comments so I hope my wording is acceptable

I still think it's Pumpkihead tomorrow anyway.

Or the "hard to keep a lid on" could be a reference to the Pumpkinhead info that was teased a while back?

Everyone has also talked about Halloween 6 since that movie is out there now...

And Don May did say that he believed some one got the rights that would be "interested in releasing the Producer's Cut of H6" (or something similar).
