So anyone waiting on that, you're welcome.

It was pretty obvious this was getting an anniversary release, but thank you nonetheless

Oh believe me I know and I was holding off buying just for this reason but with the price of that set and the extras I had to pick it up. Plus I knew it would hurry up the announcement finally.

The current disc is loaded. I'm not sure what else they could add and it's already got a digibook and steelbook release so they can't just add packaging, unless it's something like JFK I guess.

I'd be all over a JFK-like box for Batman.

They need to get on the ball and give us the Mask of the Phantasm. It's the only theatrical Batman film that hasn't been released on Blu.

Technically the Batman serials were shown theatrically too

(But I do get what you're saying and I agree)

You should still have time to return the disc you got and hook up everyone including yourself. Depends on where ya bought it and if you opened it I would guess.
Most WB anniversary editions have been lacking of late. I wouldn't be surprised to see a new cover, digital copy and that's it. I held off on the current disc so I'm down for whatever, just not expecting much more than what exists.

I'll more than likely be getting the 25th anniversary edition. I just wish they would release tas and motp.

I think I would literally cry if TAS made it's way to BD.

Indeed, especially in full HD and OAR. My gut tells me that if it ever came out, it would be either an upscale, or re-scanned to full HD, but cropped to 1.78:1.

WB should at least give us Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, as that was a theatrical film.

There better be something more than new packaging for this set.

And just one retrospective wont do it either.

I saw Batman during a recent Burton retrospective and maybe some of their essays would be cool to check out.

I'd love a UCE of 89 with some new retrospectives, deleted scenes, and some other extras (maybe a replica of Joker's bloody Gotham Globe?). This is definitely the year of the bat. I swear more has been announced for the character in 3 months than was done for Superman all year last year.

With the 66 series coming, this is literally the only "dream product" of mine that hasn't been fulfilled. I would adore WB forever if they brought TAS to Blu-Ray.

Sounds like typical Warner re-re-re-re-packaging for the '89 movie.
