Pumpkinhead is awesome...even it TT get it. I'll still buy it.
And hopefully we'll get PUTS. I know Scream may not release it but either way. I don't want to import it right now.

I did import People Under the Stairs...now I feel better about it knowing Scream isnt doing anything this year with Universal titles.

I wish they could get Rawhead Rex = does anyone know who has that movie - is it with Lionsgate ?
That film and the Watchers movies would be welcome on blu ray

The People Under The Stairs-- one of Craven's worst flicks... a big bore with nothing to enjoy save for a few fun moments with the nutty brother and sister nutcases...
have you watched Shocker recently? Man I love 80's horror and I used to love that movie but it's aged terribly. Not much gore, cheesy and way too long. Best part about that Craven movie was the killer soundtrack.

Fright Night 2 is fantastic. As good as the original in my view and certainly vastly superior to some of the rubbish that's been suggested. Same goes for People. 99% of those it's likely to be are of zero interest to me nor bear comparison with those two great little films.

Almost every movie people talk about in this thread is like, what received 2 stars or below in my old "Terror on Tape" and "creature features" vhs/laserdisc guides I used to study religiously I can't comprehend all the expectations for special editions of things like Phantasm 3 and Howling 2 and Rawhead Rex and Shocker etcetcetc. It's pretty amusing to me since I know what most of these movies are and definitely have some love for certain crappy 80s horror flicks (I certainly am the proud owner of Howling 2/3 on dvd!), but like...a lot of these movies are most definitely not good or popular enough to get the full special edition treatment I don't think. Especially not all these ones that are basically direct-to-video slapdash sequels that don't really lend themselves to having lengthy cast interviews and making-of documentaries! My mind was fairly blown that they bothered with Halloween 3 (which is one of my favorite awful 80s horror flicks, by the way, don't get me wrong, I love watching it and fully plan on buying it and watching all the special features), and now people want them for Halloween 4 and up? Yikes! Maybe we can get an interview with Michael Myers's stunt driver or Busta Rhymes! I'm glad they're showing some ambition and announcing some actual forgotten minor-classics like Legend of Hellhouse and Ginger Snaps instead of just sticking with oddly-numbered franchise sequels. Those sorts of things and big budget failures like Leviathan seem like much more interesting material for the scream factory treatment than these darn sequels which already had several anchor bay special editions in the past :P

Lionsgate seems to be the most likely scenario. All US home video releases have involved Lionsgate predecessors (Artisan, Avid, Vestron) in some capacity.

That's a great movie and great-looking too, would love to see that on blu-ray.

A lot of these requests are wishful thinking - I think people are conscious of that when they post their wants any time there's going to be a big announcement. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that - it certainly helps to build momentum and I, for one, enjoy the enthusiasm and get caught up in it myself. I know Fright Night Part II or Phantasm aren't going to be announced tomorrow but it's still fun to say there's a possibility. As for the films themselves, well, people like what they like. It serves no purpose to ridicule someone's favorite movie or dismiss the fact that they like a certain movie and brush it off as an annoyance. If you don't want to wade through the requests then go to another thread. Let people have a little fun without fear of being called out.

BTW, what's so "awful" about Halloween III? Is it because Michael Myers isn't in it? Fine - pretend it's called the Santa Mira Murders. There - now it's not so awful, is it?

I don't feel it's meant to be scary or funny. For me it's a drama of a man losing his child and fighting with his emotions...that features a monster It's been years since I saw this, but I'd definitely like to watch it again on blu.

Hmm, maybe stonehenge-infused lasers that will melt kids into a pile of bugs, a jingle that is played over and over again of a computer-drawn pumpkin flashing to the tune of London Bridge is Falling Down, Tom Atkins having passionate mustache sex with that girl, the hilarious black-gloved robot minions, the test family that seems like a casting reject for the Gloops, a secret lab that looks like the electronics section at a k-mart that's going out of business, etcetcetc. It's a really, really stupid movie. It's just also a ton of fun. I think it's by far the best of the "sequels." I have a soft spot for Halloween II just cause I saw it on cable so many times but Halloween III is infinitely more entertaining.

Anyone reading that description before watching the film should think "this film's got to be awesome", not awful

No. I'm not, anyway. I'm talking about Fright Night Part II from the 80s.

I'm sure it is in the works. And I agree it was so bad it makes for a great comedy.

I'd love to see Scream Factory release Dawn of the Dead with all three cuts and most of the documentaries. I believe there is a new documentary that was just released, or is coming soon. If SF were to release their version of the Ultimate Edition, it would be nice to see the new documentary replacing Document of the Dead, since Document is now with Synapse. The Extended cut and the European cut of Dawn both have HD masters and are on blu-ray in Japan. So it's just a matter of time before it gets released here. Although it's unlikely that this is the title, it would be a big announcement.

But I was hoping for Phantasm, and since they've shot that one down, I believe they're going to announce Pumpkinhead today.
