Default Why does Foreign countries like(UK,Germany & Austrilla) have better relases then the

THE USA I notice that those countries have better releases then US in US.

Better Blu-ray cases.
Better Transfers.
Better covers.
Better extras.

If you think about it the America gets the shaft when it comes to Blu-ray release we have Echo Bridge and the other countries don't even have a counterpart.

The UK has shit on Blu-ray that we don't but they have everything we do.

There are examples where other countries get the better of the stuff you listed, and there are examples where the US releases are better.

Also, you are probably being unfair because you listed multiple countries and probably basically mean US vs the rest of the world. Which increases the odds of some country somewhere getting a better release. But if we're only talking about a single country's releases, then the US has the best releases by far.

The three countries you listed also have annoying trends:

Thicker cases (UK and Australia) - which are OK if there is a thick booklet inside or something, but generally only require extra shelf space
Ratings logos on covers and discs, Germany has the biggest and ugliest ratings logos IMO

Whereas the US has thin, shelf space friendly cases and no ugly ratings logos on covers and discs.

Why do Foreign countries such as the United Kingdom, Germany, or Autralia have better movie releases than the United States?

Eh, we don't have Criterion blurays here in Europe and sometimes bluray miss extras because the companies try to cram as many languages as possible on one master to spare any expenses. Sometimes movies even have like only a 5.1 track for the original language and only 7.1 for the dub. Even worse are 1080i50 HDTV masters that are used when there are better materials available

Besides, it's not much of an issue because it's so goddamn easy to import these days. I've been buying import DVD's, action figures, video games and other stuff for almost a decade now.

All good points.

Basically, some releases are better for international editions and others are not. I'm sure there are Blu-ray fans in other countries who feel the same. Certainly, I know there are those who like to import releases from the US (especially for Criterion releases) and for titles that are less likely to be released internationally soon.

So worldwide there can be some discrepancies between editions and releases from time to time.

I like how all countries except the US are "foreign" countries. I bet folks from those other parts of the world didn't know they were all foreigners!

On the other hand, here in Australia we have to wait several months after they are released in USA some times for a movie to be released on BD here and they are way more expensive then what USA pays for new releases. Google some movies released in the last 6 months and see how much we are charged for them compared to what you pay for them. On the most part, American BD's are 20% cheaper upon initial release than what they are in Australia upon initial release and at least 30-40% cheaper by the time the same movie is released here and our prices don't drop for a very long time. Man of Steel is still $25+. New releases are $30+. Sure, sometimes we have releases you can't get like individual Hitchcock movies you could only get in the box set in the USA, but most of the time we have exactly what you guys have but have to wait longer for them to be released and pay a shit load more.

And as for better covers - we have ridiculous ratings logo's destroying the cover art.
As for better cases - ours are almost twice as thick taking up valued shelf space.

Thicker the case more sturdier it is.My cases get scratched on the top where the Blu-ray logo is and get pieces of the plastic broken.Plus we have Viva Elite case that are shit only if Vortex cases were the only kind they use.I prefer the embossed Blu-ray logo instead of the printed on logo.TBH Slipcovers are overrated I fuggin hate slipcovers, steel books & digibooks they don't line up well with the keep cases in alphabetical order.
The perfect release to me is:
Non-Eco lite Vortex case.
The disc to have the same font of the films title logo and a few specs on it.
The cover to be a slightly different version of the theatrical poster to provide a difference between the theatrical & home video release of the film & also a nice layer on the bottom that states The Best Picture,The Best Audio is found on Blu-ray similar to early Sony & Universal releases.
The spine to have 1 still from the film and the title in the same font and the Blu-ray logo the lay flat like(Sony,Lionsgate & Mill Creek) not upside down as seen in(Warner Bros & Universal).
The back cover doesn't have plain Blu-ray but on the top side says the Future is Blu like early MGM & Fox titles,Three stills from the film on the side with a brief synapse of the film and some technical specs about the disc and the film.
The Content of the Disc must start with the Logo of the film then provides you two options Watch Play the Film or Have The Theater Experience(with Ads in beginning, some trailers of upcoming attractions & off course the film) then during the film you or after you have a commentary track to chose from & a few featurettes & lastly the promotional material used for the film the trailer & tv spots.
Inside the case doesn't have anything besides a still of the film on the other side of the art work and a scene selection but no fuggin paper inserts.
Every blu-ray would come with it's own plastic bag protector that new releases just require you to take a piece of Sercuirty tape on the outside to acesse the disc but used ones you just take it out & put it back inside the plastic bag protector.

But that's my perfect release.Maybe I'm to anal.

I also forget that each Blu-ray disc to be not limited but each disc must be numbered with which printed disc number it is.Each Blu-ray must cost $15

Most mainstream films get the same video/audio quality everywhere.
B movies seem to get better everything in Germany.

It's really all down to more little companies in Europe licensing titles from the big (American) studios. I'm in the UK & regularly buy from Germany & France via Amazon, it's just a click of a mouse, & they're all my region, B.

UK gets tons of Westerns before the US. They are the same transfers if we ever get them. I just Imported The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance but it is about $14.00 including shipping not bad. I sure wish we had Arrow releases they sure do a good with classic horror and SIFI.
