I rewatched this the other weekend, I've always loved it. Davis' performance is a bit ropey at times, especially when playing the tougher side of her character but as usual Renny Harlin handles the action with aplomb.

Mark Dacascos is the most underrated action star ever (now that Dolph finally got his due in recent years thanks to The Expendables franchise) , so here's three of his best:

Yeah, it's tongue in cheek for sure. I just love movies that have actors that are actual martial artists like White and Dacascos. It just totally changes the way the scenes are shot (since they're not covering up for stunt doubles), and feels so authentic and brutal. Adkins recent Ninja 2 might be the epitome of that vibe these days outside if the work Tony Jaa continues to do.

I think Renny Harlin has a way with action films.... it's all personal preference of course but something about his direction really connects with me as far as action sequences...
3 of my all time favorite action films are CLIFFHANGER, THE LONG KISS GOODNIGHT, and DIE HARD 2 (yes, the hated sequel here but I just love it!!) |

Unleashed with Jet Li was one of the strangest action films I've ever seen, but that's what I liked about it. The only martial arts film to take place in Glasgow, Scotland and to co-star Morgan Freeman it's about a martial arts savant raised from birth like a dog by a gangster to function as a living weapon.
I also really liked Haywire by Stephen Soderbergh. Last edited by Todd Tomorrow; 03-30-2014 at 05:49 PM. |

He needs a decent big budget movie with a good script to get him back on the map. I haven't seen Legend of Hercules yet but visually it looks fantastic. |

This was a good movie, very underrated. There's a great scene with Scott Adkins. The finale on the motorway with the bus is great too.
