Which ones? They need to be non-BD-Java authored discs.

I'm going to return this 1500, and wait for sony S350
Samsung can't even make a basic resume functional work.

These day basic resume function should work for all disc

Do yourself a favor and familiarize yourself with the tech before you go off half-cocked. "Resume" function does not work on ANY player when the disc contains Java features. If a disc does not have Java, the Samsung with resume just fine.

And there you have it.

Ignorance is bliss, especially when you cannot take the time to research the technology before spouting off publically.

First of all, if the disc has the java load, i.e (Pirates of the Caribbean) it will not resume playback. There are currently no BD players on the market that can resume playback on a Java disc.

2nd- The Samsung players does resume playback on regular non-java discs. While watching a movie, just hit the power button to turn off the unit. DO NOT HIT THE STOP BUTTON (IT WILL NOT RESUME IF YOU DO THAT). When you power the unit back on again, the movie should resume playback right where you left off........

Hope this hepls.

Actually most players allow you to hit the stop button ONCE and still resume. If you hit stop TWICE, that cancels the resume feature. This gets a little tricky because some programmable remotes (e.g. Harmony) can be set up to issue a stop command before shutting the player off so if you stopped it first and then hit the power down button, the second stop command will cancel the resume.

There's no player out there that resume in Java App...

The Java App need to be loaded first before playback. (Copy protection or Menu Loading or both)

I have had the last two Samsung models, 1400 and 1500 and the only way to resume playback on both is to power off the unit while watching a movie without pressing the stop button......

Any BD disc that you see that's loading just like a video game. Example of such discs are the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. Keep in mind that there are currently NO BD players on the market that resume playback on those discs. However, recent BD releases are coming out with the bookmark option that in my opinion is very helpful.

On a side note, Sony stand alone players does not resume playback from power off even on non- java discs. PS3 is the only Sony BD player that resumes playback on the non-Java discs.

All Warner use No Java
All Paramount use No Java (for now)
Universal will use Java
Sony use Java on thier big title, and none Java on their normal catalog
Disney/Buena is the same as Sony
Fox Use Java on most of their new release and catalog (since end of 2007), before that it was mixed..

Not true. Terminator 3 and V For Vendetta (i.e., titles with IME, even when faked like with T3) use Java.

Interesting, I have watched several Blue-Ray movies (non-Java) and I have been able to hit stop once and resume just fine on my 1500 player.

That's exactly what I am trying to say. If you power the unit off It won't resume playback if you hit the stop button first. However, if you turn off the unit while watching a movie *without* pressing the stop button, the movie will start right where you left off.......
