It will cause judder due to a 3:2 pulldown being used. How obvious this varies from nearly invisible to extremely noticeable depending on the set.

The higher hz has nothing to do with this. Nothing at all. Cinemas until recently only showed films at 48fps (showing each frame twice). The only reason they have moved to higher fps that I am aware of is to accommodate 3d. The problem isn't that 60hz/fps is to low, the problem is the pulldown (meaning some frames are shown more often then others, which invariably creates judder). Most plasmas for example run at either 72 or 96 hz in 2d and have better motion then lcd's (no matter how high the hz of the lcd).
