Zombie's Halloween is a masterpiece in it's own way. As you can tell I am a huge fan of his work. That being said the original is the better film. As far as Zombie's H2, it is just that, number 2. Zombie's biggest problem is the need to put his wife in every movie he makes, and while she is quite adorable, she can not act. She is horrible, the only believable acting she has done was on the stripper pole in H1.

I am with you on this redrunner! And who is knocking Halloween 4?...that is a damn good sequel! Granted yes in was the return of Michael Myers and he was supposed to be finally dead and all at least in Carpenters eyes but it was a very enjoyable film.

Never get the love for Rob Zombie, a one-note filmmaker if there ever was one. His Halloween films are imo horrendous as was his trying to make the Firefly family anti heroes in TDR when they were nothing but scum. If anyone else loves his stuff, fine - id never tell you you are wrong but thank god he never got to make a blob film.

I'm biased as I love his solo work as a musician and with White Zombie so always give his films a chance. He's a great live performer.

It's a shame as he clearly has the love for the genre and knows enough about it but sometimes his films just lack quality. As nice as her arse is, he needs to stop casting his missus as she cannot act.

I don't mind his music either just his film style is so repetitive.

Devil's Rejects is the only RZ film I realistically enjoy - he's definitely a one-note filmmaker. And I say that in the sense that he always makes the same cookie-cutter casting choices, starting with his wife. Does she have to be in every one of his films? He could try NOT casting all of his films with inbred white trash characters. I guess that's to be expected of a guy who comes from making punk rock music videos.

I know the answer is no (or at least, not by Scream Factory)...

...but will The Hills Have Eyes ever get done justice?

I'd like to see Scream move away from crappy slashers like Final Exam and release some bizarre stuff like The Johnsons and Baby Blood. Throw us some curves like Anchor Bay in its heyday.

I quite liked The Hills Have Eyes remake. Not comparing it to the original, mind you, but on its own merits.

It looks like a mime because it's a new mask stolen from a new location from Myers himself.

That's why the mask is different in Halloween 4.
Exactly... He should have had a completely new mask, Not a bootleg of the original. (And yes it was a bootleg of the original mask.)

I know right... Awesome movie! Can't believe the crap about a DVD transfer on a BD for Hills Have Eyes. Damn.

Completely agree. Love The Johnsons. I almost died of boredom during Final Exam. That I didn't sell the old OOP DVD before Scorpion re-released it is an eternal regret.

I found it rather slow and I'm a pretty easy grader on college/summer camp slashers. It had its moments, but I just couldn't get all the way in. I'll give it another whirl when the blu-ray hits.

I like the slow build, and the killer's desire to kill isn't methodical and though-out... He's just a killer.

Yeah after I saw his Halloween 2 in the theater I was disappointed to say the least. I said, well that kinda sucked. It wasn't until a couple years later that a friend suggested giving the Director's Cut a try, saying how much better it was. It was like night and day. I thought it was a lot better.

The Johnsons is a gem; totally wacky and unnerving.

There's a reason Final Exam was part of the "Katarina's Nightmare Theater" line. If ever there was a line of releases dedicated to pure sh*t.
